The REDMAGIC 11 Air is a slim gaming phone that sits below the REDMAGIC 11 Pro. It was announced in China on January 20, 2026, and launched globally on January 29. Open sales started on February 11. In the US, it starts at $529 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That places it in the upper mid-range.
Design and display
The phone keeps the transparent back design of the brand, with RGB lighting under the glass. It measures 7.85 mm thick and weighs 207 g. REDMAGIC says it is 12% thinner and 10% lighter than the 11 Pro. The frame is aluminum, and the back uses Gorilla Glass 5. Protection is limited to IP54, so it resists splashes and dust but not full submersion.
The front has a 6.85-inch OLED panel with a 2688 x 1216 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. That is a step up from the 120Hz screen of the 10 Air. Peak brightness reaches 1,800 nits, and the screen covers 100% of DCI-P3. The selfie camera sits under the display, so there is no notch or punch hole. Gorilla Glass 7i covers the panel.
Performance
The 11 Air runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 3 nm chip. Its CPU reaches 4.32 GHz, and the GPU is an Adreno 830. It is the previous flagship chip, while the 11 Pro uses the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. A separate RedCore R4 gaming chip helps with frame stability. Memory options are 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Cooling is a key feature. The phone has a 24,000 RPM fan, the first active fan in the Air series. It also uses a larger vapor chamber and graphene layers. For games, there are 520Hz touch shoulder triggers and a Magic Key on the side.
Cameras
The 50MP main camera uses an OmniVision OV50E sensor, an f/1.89 lens and optical stabilization. An 8MP ultrawide with a 112-degree view joins it, and there is no telephoto camera. The main camera records video up to 8K at 30 fps. On the front, a 16MP camera sits under the display.
Battery and charging
The battery is a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon cell, 1,000mAh larger than in the 10 Air. The global model charges at up to 80W, and the charger comes in the box. The China version supports 120W instead. Bypass charging can power the phone directly while gaming. There is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The phone ships with Android 16 and REDMAGIC OS 11. REDMAGIC promises two major Android updates and three years of security updates. Google Gemini features such as Circle to Search are included. Other extras include NFC, an infrared blaster, stereo speakers and dual nano-SIM slots without eSIM.
Should you buy the REDMAGIC 11 Air?
The 11 Air suits gamers who want a flagship-class chip, a fan and shoulder triggers in a thinner body. Its large battery and 144Hz screen also help long gaming sessions. However, buyers who care about cameras, water resistance or wireless charging should look elsewhere. Those who want the newest chip and stronger cooling may prefer the 11 Pro. Also note that the official REDMAGIC stores showed the phone as out of stock in October 2026.
