Terms of Use
These terms are the ground rules for using PhoneRanked. They’re written to be read, not skimmed past: what you can expect from our specs and scores, what we expect from you when you post a review, and where our responsibility ends.
The short version
- PhoneRanked is free to use for your own research. You don’t need an account.
- We work hard to get specs right, but mistakes happen. Check key details with the manufacturer or store before you buy.
- Our scores are calculated from specifications and benchmarks. They are not hands-on lab tests.
- Some store links earn us a commission. This never changes a phone’s score or ranking.
- Reviews should be honest, about your own experience, and free of spam and personal attacks.
1. Using the site
By using phoneranked.com (“PhoneRanked”, “we”, “us”), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. You may use PhoneRanked for personal, non-commercial research: reading phone pages, comparing phones, using the Phone Finder and sharing links to our pages.
2. Specs, scores and prices
Specifications
We collect specifications from official manufacturer sources and check them against other reliable sources. Even so, manufacturers change details between regions and over time, and errors can slip in. Before you buy, confirm anything that matters to you (such as network bands, storage options or charging support) with the manufacturer or seller. If you spot a mistake, please report it and we’ll fix it.
Scores and rankings
PhoneRanked scores are calculated automatically from each phone’s specifications and chipset benchmark results, compared with other phones. We don’t physically test every phone. Scores are our editorial opinion, not a guarantee of how a phone will perform for you. Scores can change when we update data or improve our method; How we rate phones explains how they work. A score marked “Preliminary” is based on incomplete benchmark data and will be updated.
Prices and availability
Launch prices are the official prices announced by the manufacturer, usually in US dollars. Current prices and availability change often and differ by country and store. The price at the store when you buy is the one that counts.
Upcoming and rumored phones
Information about phones that aren’t on sale yet is clearly labeled as rumored or announced. It is based on the best information available at the time and may turn out to be wrong.
3. Affiliate links
Some pages include links to stores such as Amazon or AliExpress. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Pages with these links say so next to the buttons. Commissions help keep PhoneRanked free, and they never affect a phone’s score, its place in our rankings or what we write about it. Purchases are made with the store, under the store’s terms, and we aren’t a party to them.
4. Owner reviews
Anyone can post a review or comment. By posting, you confirm that:
- the review is about your own experience with the phone and is honest;
- you aren’t paid or rewarded for it, and you don’t work for the phone’s maker or a competitor (if you do, say so in the review);
- it doesn’t include spam, advertising, links to shops, or personal information about you or anyone else;
- it isn’t abusive, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit or illegal, and doesn’t copy someone else’s text or photos.
We read every review before it is published. We may decline, edit for formatting, or remove any review or rating, for example if it breaks these rules or is clearly about a different phone. We don’t have to explain every moderation decision.
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give PhoneRanked a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to show, store and format your review on the site for as long as it is published. You can ask us to remove your review at any time.
5. Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- copy large parts of our database, specs tables, scores or rankings, or collect them with scrapers, bots or other automated tools, without our written permission;
- republish our content as your own or present our scores as your own ratings;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the site;
- post votes or reviews in bulk, or use fake identities to change a phone’s rating.
Quoting a short passage or a single score with a link back to the page is fine.
6. Our content and trademarks
The texts, scores, rankings, database structure and design of PhoneRanked belong to us and are protected by copyright. Phone names, brand names and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify their products. PhoneRanked isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any phone maker. Product photos are official images published by the manufacturers and remain their property.
If you believe something on PhoneRanked infringes your rights, contact us with a link to the page and a short explanation, and we’ll review it promptly and remove the material if needed.
7. Links to other sites
We link to manufacturers, stores, videos and news sources. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.
8. Disclaimer
PhoneRanked is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that the site will always be available, error-free or that every detail is complete and current. The information on the site is general and doesn’t replace advice from the manufacturer, your carrier or a store.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, PhoneRanked isn’t liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its information, including a purchase decision. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using PhoneRanked after a change, the updated terms apply.
