The HONOR Magic8 Pro is a flagship phone from HONOR. It was announced in China on October 15, 2025, and went on sale there on October 23. The UK and European launch followed in January 2026. In Europe, its recommended price is €1,299 for 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. In the UK, it costs £1,099.
Design and display
The Magic8 Pro has a slightly smaller 6.71-inch LTPO OLED screen with 1256 x 2808 pixels. The refresh rate adapts from 1 to 120 Hz. HONOR quotes 6,000 nits HDR peak brightness and 1,800 nits across the whole screen. The display uses 4320 Hz PWM dimming and NanoCrystal Shield glass.
The phone is rated IP68, IP69 and IP69K, which covers immersion and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. It measures 161.15 x 75.0 x 8.4 mm and weighs about 219 g. The back is matte glass, and a new side key opens HONOR’s AI features.
Performance
Power comes from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with an Adreno 840 GPU. Its two prime cores reach 4.6 GHz. The European model has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. China offers 12/256 GB, 12/512 GB, 16/512 GB and 16 GB/1 TB versions. There is no microSD slot.
Cameras
The 50 MP main camera has a 1/1.3-inch sensor, an f/1.6 aperture and OIS. HONOR dropped the variable aperture of the Magic7 Pro. The 200 MP periscope telephoto uses a 1/1.4-inch sensor with 3.7x optical zoom and OIS. A 50 MP ultrawide camera covers 122 degrees and shoots macro. Rear video goes up to 4K at 120 fps.
The front has a 50 MP camera and a 3D depth sensor for face unlock. An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor sits under the display.
Battery and charging
European and UK models have a 6,270 mAh silicon-carbon battery. The Chinese version has 7,200 mAh and 120 W wired charging. Global units charge at up to 100 W by cable and 80 W wirelessly. No power adapter is included in the box.
Software and updates
The phone launched with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. In Europe, HONOR promises seven years of OS and security updates. Connectivity includes 5G, tri-band Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and an IR blaster. The USB-C port runs at USB 3.2 Gen 1 speed. It supports two Nano-SIMs or eSIMs.
Should you buy the Magic8 Pro?
The Magic8 Pro suits buyers who want long battery life, strong zoom and very tough water protection. It offers both 3D face unlock and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Seven years of updates make it a long-term choice. It is not sold in the US, and the European battery is smaller than in China.
