The POCO F8 Pro is a performance-focused Android phone from POCO. It was announced at a global launch event on November 26, 2025, and went on sale the same day. The global launch price started at $579 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. In China, the same phone is sold as the REDMI K90. The phone sits between the mid-range and flagship segments.
Design and display
The F8 Pro uses an aluminum frame and a glass back made from a single milled piece. It measures 157.49 x 75.25 x 8.0 mm and weighs 199 g. The body is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. Color options are Black, Blue, and Titanium Silver.
The front has a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2510 x 1156 pixels. The refresh rate goes up to 120Hz, but the panel is not LTPO. POCO lists a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, along with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen.
Performance
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 3nm chip with two prime cores at up to 4.32 GHz. Every version has 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options are 256GB and 512GB of UFS 4.1, with no microSD slot. Compared with the F7 Pro, the newer model moves from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The main camera uses a 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor with a 1/1.55-inch size, an f/1.88 aperture, and OIS. A 50MP telephoto camera with a 60mm equivalent focal length adds 2.5x optical zoom, which the F7 Pro lacked. An 8MP ultra-wide camera completes the set. The rear cameras record up to 8K at 30 fps, while the 20MP front camera records up to 1080p at 60 fps.
Battery and charging
A 6,210 mAh battery powers the phone. It supports 100W wired HyperCharge and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. However, there is no wireless charging. The USB-C port uses the USB 2.0 standard. In China, the REDMI K90 version has a larger 7,100 mAh battery.
Software and updates
The F8 Pro ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. POCO promises four major Android upgrades and six years of security updates. Other features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, NFC, an IR blaster, and stereo speakers tuned with Bose. For connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual SIM with eSIM.
Should you buy the POCO F8 Pro?
The F8 Pro suits buyers who want a flagship-class chip and a large battery in a compact 6.59-inch body. It also fits people who value long software support and fast wired charging. On the other hand, it lacks wireless charging and a headphone jack, and its USB port is limited to USB 2.0. Its successor, the POCO F9 Pro, launched in September 2026 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 50W wireless charging.
