The POCO X8s is a compact mid-range phone from POCO. It first appeared in October 2026 as a pre-order on Xiaomi’s official store in Vietnam. POCO then announced it for global markets. It is the fifth model in the X8 series and the smallest one. POCO published global early-bird prices of $399 for 8GB/256GB and $499 for 12GB/512GB. The regular price after the early-bird offer has not been announced. In Vietnam, the phone costs VND 11,500,000 and VND 14,000,000. Vietnamese pre-orders ship between November 6 and November 9, 2026.
Design and display
The phone measures 151.1 x 71.8 x 8.06 mm and weighs 187 g. It has a micro-curved aluminum frame and a camera module in the same color as the body. POCO rates it IP68 for dust and water resistance. It comes in Black, Blue and White in every market so far.
The 6.35-inch CrystalRes AMOLED panel has a 2656 x 1220 resolution and 460 ppi. Its LTPO refresh rate adjusts from 1Hz to 120Hz. POCO quotes up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The screen supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and uses POCO Shield Glass. The bezels are 1.18 mm thick on every side.
Performance
The X8s runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a 4nm chip that peaks at 2.8GHz. It comes with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. These are older memory and storage standards than in many rivals at this price. There is no microSD slot. A cooling system with a 4,497 mm² heat dissipation area helps keep performance stable.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor. It has a 1/1.55-inch size, an f/1.77 aperture and optical stabilization. A 50MP telephoto camera offers 2.5x optical zoom with a 57mm equivalent focal length. An 8MP ultrawide camera completes the rear setup. The rear cameras record video at up to 4K and 30fps. On the front, a 20MP camera records 1080p video at up to 60fps.
Battery and charging
Inside is a 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery. POCO says it keeps at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles. The phone supports 100W wired charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. Wireless charging is not listed. The global package lists a charger in the box, but POCO says this may differ by region.
Software and updates
The X8s ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. POCO has not published how many Android upgrades or years of security updates it will get. Other features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, an IR blaster and stereo speakers. It supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and 5G. You can use two nano-SIM cards, a nano-SIM and an eSIM, or two eSIMs.
Should you buy the POCO X8s?
The X8s suits buyers who want a smaller phone without giving up battery size. It pairs a 6,330mAh battery with a 6.35-inch body and adds a 2.5x telephoto camera. Its IP68 rating and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor are useful extras at this price. Buyers who move large files often may notice the slower UFS 2.2 storage. It is also wise to wait for the regular global price and the update policy before ordering. The phone is not officially sold in the US.
