The REDMI 15C is a budget Android phone from REDMI, Xiaomi’s value brand. It is the 4G version of the lineup. The REDMI 15C 5G is a separate model with a faster chip and 5G support. The REDMI 15C went on sale in August 2025. Xiaomi’s own European stores added it a few weeks later. In Europe, Xiaomi’s Spanish store lists the 4 GB + 128 GB model at €149.99. The phone is not sold officially in the US. Globally, the same phone is also sold as the POCO C85.
Design and display
The front is a 6.9-inch IPS LCD with a waterdrop notch. Its resolution is 1600 x 720 pixels. It runs at up to 120 Hz and has a touch sampling rate of up to 240 Hz. Xiaomi rates the brightness at 660 nits typical and 810 nits in high brightness mode. The panel uses DC dimming and holds three TÜV Rheinland eye-comfort certifications. Notebookcheck lists Gorilla Glass 3 on the front.
The body is plastic. It measures 171.56 x 79.47 x 7.99 mm and weighs 205 g. The phone carries an IP64 rating against dust and splashes. It comes in Moonlight Blue, Midnight Black, Mint Green and Twilight Orange. The blue and orange models have a wavy pattern on the back.
Performance
The phone runs on the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra, a version of the Helio G81. It has two Cortex-A75 cores at up to 2.0 GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. It comes with 4, 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage is 128 or 256 GB of eMMC 5.1. A microSD slot adds up to 1 TB.
In Notebookcheck’s test, the phone scored 427 points single-core and 1,051 points multi-core in Geekbench 6. The reviewers found it fast enough for simple tasks, but the eMMC storage makes apps load slowly. The REDMI 15C 5G uses a Dimensity 6300 chip and faster UFS 2.2 storage. It also adds 5G, which the Helio G81-Ultra does not support.
Cameras
The rear has a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens, plus an auxiliary lens. The front camera has 8 MP and an f/2.0 lens. Both cameras record video at up to 1080p and 30 fps. Notebookcheck rated the photo quality as typical for the price class.
Battery and charging
The battery has a capacity of 6,000 mAh and supports 33 W wired charging. The phone can also charge other devices by cable at up to 10 W. Xiaomi says the battery keeps at least 80% of its capacity after 1,000 full cycles. In Notebookcheck’s Wi-Fi test, the phone lasted almost 21 hours. A full charge took just over two hours. Xiaomi notes that the charger in the box depends on the market.
Software and updates
The REDMI 15C ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. Google Gemini and Circle to Search are built in. According to Notebookcheck, Xiaomi promises security updates until 2031 and at least two major Android upgrades.
Should you buy the REDMI 15C?
The REDMI 15C suits buyers who want a large screen and a big battery for little money. It also keeps a headphone jack, NFC, FM radio and a microSD slot. On the other hand, the chip is slow, the storage is eMMC and the speaker is mono. Buyers who need 5G or quicker app loading should look at the REDMI 15C 5G instead.
