The Motorola Razr 2026 is the entry model of Motorola’s 2026 flip foldable lineup. Motorola announced it on April 29, 2026. It went on sale unlocked in the US on May 21, 2026. The only version has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and costs $799.99. Outside the US, it is sold as the Motorola Razr 70. It sits below the Razr+ 2026 and the Razr Ultra 2026 in the same family.

Design and display

When closed, the phone measures 88.08 x 73.99 x 15.85 mm. Opened, it is 171.3 mm tall and 7.25 mm thin, and it weighs 188 g. A titanium-reinforced hinge holds the two halves together. The phone carries an IP48 rating and is certified to MIL-STD 810H. Motorola says it is the first flip phone in its class to meet that standard.

The inner screen is a 6.9-inch LTPO Extreme AMOLED panel. It has a 1080 x 2640 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It reaches 3,000 nits peak brightness and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Outside, a 3.6-inch cover display runs at 90Hz and reaches 1,700 nits. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and can run full apps. Colors include PANTONE Hematite, Sporting Green, Violet Ice and Bright White, each with its own textured finish.

Performance

The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7450X, a 4nm chip. It has four Cortex-A78 cores at up to 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores. The X version adds dual-display support for flip phones. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There is no microSD slot. The Razr 2025 used the older Dimensity 7400X.

Cameras

The rear setup has two 50MP cameras. The main camera uses a 1/1.95-inch sensor, an f/1.7 lens and optical image stabilization. The ultrawide camera also has 50MP, a 122-degree field of view and a macro mode. According to Phone Scoop, the ultrawide is the main camera upgrade over the previous model. Inside, a 32MP selfie camera sits in the main screen. Video recording reaches 4K at 30fps.

Battery and charging

The battery has a typical capacity of 4,800mAh and uses a silicon-carbon anode. Motorola rates it for over 36 hours of mixed use. Wired charging reaches 30W, and 15W wireless charging is also supported. The box includes a USB-C cable but no charger.

Software and updates

The Razr 2026 ships with Android 16 and Motorola’s Hello UX interface. Moto AI, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity are available on the phone. Motorola promises three Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates, which is shorter than many rivals.

Should you buy the Razr 2026?

The Razr 2026 suits buyers who want a compact flip phone with a usable cover screen. It also costs less than most foldables. It offers a large battery for a flip, wireless charging, stereo speakers and IP48 protection. However, buyers who need strong gaming performance may prefer the Razr+ 2026. Those who want longer software support may look at a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip model.
