The vivo X Fold6 is a book-style foldable flagship. It was announced in China on June 26, 2026, and went on sale there on July 1. The global version followed on September 30, 2026. It has been sold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since October 1. In Europe, it costs €2,199 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In China, prices start at CNY 7,999 for 12GB and 256GB. vivo has no official US price.
Design and display
The inner screen is an 8.02-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 2504 x 2312 resolution. The cover screen measures 6.51 inches at 2528 x 1120. Both refresh at 1 to 120Hz and reach up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. They can also dim to 1 nit for night use.
The frame is aluminum alloy. Horizon Blue has a glass back and measures 9.9mm folded and 235g. Prism Black uses a fiberglass back, so it is thinner at 9.4mm and lighter at 228g. The phone is rated IP58 and IP59, which covers dust, immersion and hot water jets.
Performance
The phone runs on a Dimensity 9500 Super Edition. This is a Dimensity 9500 tuned by vivo and MediaTek for this foldable. It is a 3nm chip with a top CPU clock of 4.21 GHz and a Mali-G1 Ultra GPU. The global model ships with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Chinese models go up to 16GB and 1TB. There is no microSD slot.
Cameras
The rear setup has three ZEISS-branded cameras. The main camera uses a 200MP 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPB sensor with an f/1.68 lens and OIS. Next to it sits a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto with a Sony LYTIA 602 sensor and OIS. A 50MP ultrawide camera completes the set.
The main camera records video at up to 8K, and Dolby Vision video is available at 4K 60fps. Each screen has a 20MP selfie camera. The phone also supports the optional ZEISS Telephoto Extender G2, which gives a 200mm equivalent focal length.
Battery and charging
The global model has a 6,900mAh battery with silicon anode and semi-solid-state technology. The Chinese version is rated at 7,000mAh. Wired charging runs at up to 80W, and wireless charging reaches 40W. The phone can also charge other devices wirelessly.
Software and updates
The global X Fold6 runs OriginOS 7 Fold based on Android 17. The Chinese model launched with OriginOS 6 Fold on Android 16. Multitasking tools include a workbench with one main window and four side windows, plus a four-window split screen. vivo has not published an update policy for the phone yet.
Should you buy the vivo X Fold6?
The X Fold6 suits buyers who want a foldable with a large battery. Its 200MP main camera and periscope zoom add flexibility. It also suits users who work in many windows at once. However, sales outside China are limited so far, and Europe gets only one memory option. Buyers who need a clear update promise should wait for vivo to announce one.
