The Cubot KingKong Dura is a rugged 4G phone built around a swappable battery system. Cubot unveiled it in August 2026 and first sold it through TikTok Shop. Later, it reached Cubot’s own online stores. Instead of one huge sealed cell, it ships with two removable 5,000 mAh batteries. It sits in the budget rugged segment, and Cubot has not announced an official US price.

Design and display

The phone measures 180.1 x 85 x 13 mm and weighs 299.5 g. That is slim for a rugged device. The design relies on a spare battery rather than one very large cell. The battery slides out of the back without removing a cover, and a latch locks it in place.

Protection covers IP68 and IP69K ratings plus MIL-STD-810H certification. A camping light sits on the rear camera island, and a programmable shortcut key is on the left side. Cubot sells the phone in Black and Green.

The front has a 6.88-inch IPS LCD with a 720 x 1640 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Pixel density is about 260 ppi, which is modest for a screen of this size.

Performance

The KingKong Dura runs on the Unisoc T620, which Unisoc also lists as the T7280. This 12 nm chip has two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. Graphics come from a single-core Mali-G57 GPU.

Cubot offers 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, or 12GB with 256GB. Both versions add virtual RAM from storage. In addition, a microSD card can expand the storage, but it shares the hybrid tray with the second SIM.

Cameras

The rear setup pairs a 64MP main camera with phase-detection autofocus and a 2MP macro camera. An LED flash sits next to them. On the front, a 16MP camera handles selfies and face unlock.

Battery and charging

Each of the two batteries holds 5,000 mAh. Cubot includes a separate charging dock, so one battery can charge while the other powers the phone. As a result, you can swap in a full battery in seconds instead of plugging the phone in.

A charger is included in the box. However, Cubot does not state the maximum charging speed on its specs page. There is no wireless charging.

Software and updates

The phone ships with Android 16 and Google services. The interface stays close to stock Android. Cubot has not published an update policy for this model, so the number of future Android versions is unknown.

Connectivity includes 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. Navigation supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou. There is no 5G, and the side-mounted fingerprint reader is built into the power button.

Should you buy the KingKong Dura?

The KingKong Dura suits people who work or travel far from outlets and want a quick battery swap. It also fits buyers who want a rugged phone that is thinner than most models with 10,000 mAh cells. On the other hand, the entry-level chip, HD+ screen and lack of 5G hold it back in demanding apps. Buyers who value long update support should also note that Cubot has not promised any.
