The Phone (4a) Pro is a mid-range Android phone from Nothing. It was announced on March 5, 2026, alongside the cheaper Phone (4a). Sales began in India on March 13, and most other markets followed on March 27. In the US, it starts at $499 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is also the first A-series Nothing phone sold officially in the US.
Design and display
The phone moves from a plastic frame to an aluminum unibody. It measures 7.9 mm thick and weighs 210 g. The body is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance. It handles splashes but is not built for submersion. On the back, a Glyph Matrix with 137 mini-LEDs shows notifications and simple animations.
The front has a 6.83-inch flexible AMOLED panel with a 1260 x 2800 resolution and 450 ppi. The refresh rate adapts up to 144Hz, and peak brightness reaches 5,000 nits. In addition, the screen supports HDR10+ and is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Nothing sells the phone in Silver, Black, and Pink.
Performance
Inside is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, built on a 4 nm process. It pairs with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There is no microSD slot. For cooling, Nothing uses a 5,300 mm² vapor chamber together with the metal body.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The main camera uses a 50MP Sony LYT-700C sensor with an f/1.88 lens and optical stabilization. Next to it sits a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS. Nothing advertises up to 140x zoom, which is digital beyond the optical range. An 8MP ultrawide camera completes the set.
On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera. The rear cameras record video at up to 4K and 30 fps. Slow motion runs at 1080p and 120 fps.
Battery and charging
The global model has a 5,080 mAh battery, while the Indian version gets 5,400 mAh. Wired charging tops out at 50W. However, there is no wireless charging. The phone can charge other devices over a cable at 7.5W. The box includes a USB-C cable, a case, and a pre-applied screen protector, but no charger.
Software and updates
The phone ships with Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. Nothing promises three years of Android updates and six years of security patches. As a result, security support runs into 2032.
Should you buy the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro?
The Phone (4a) Pro suits buyers who want a periscope zoom camera and a metal body for around $500. The large 144Hz screen and the long security support also add value. On the other hand, buyers who need wireless charging or full IP68 protection should look at other models. Those who do not need the telephoto can consider the cheaper Phone (4a). However, it is not sold in the US.
