The OPPO Find N5 is a book-style foldable phone announced on February 20, 2025. It launched in China and at a global event in Singapore on the same day. In Singapore, it costs S$2,499 for the 16GB + 512GB model. OPPO did not release it in the US or Europe. Instead, the global version went first to Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Design and display
When folded, the Find N5 is 8.93 mm thick. Unfolded, it measures 4.21 mm, and it weighs 229 g. The frame uses 7-series aluminum alloy, while the hinge has a 3D-printed titanium alloy casing. OPPO rates the phone IPX6, IPX8 and IPX9 for water resistance, but it has no official dust rating.
The inner screen is an 8.12-inch AMOLED panel with 2480 x 2248 pixels. It uses LTPO technology for a 1–120Hz refresh rate and reaches 2,100 nits peak brightness. The cover screen measures 6.62 inches, with 2616 x 1140 pixels and up to 2,450 nits. Ultra-thin nanocrystal glass protects the cover screen. The phone also supports the OPPO Pen stylus.
Performance
The phone runs on a seven-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It has two prime cores and five performance cores, paired with the Adreno 830 GPU. The global model comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. In China, OPPO also sells 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 1TB versions. There is no microSD card slot.
Cameras
The rear system has three cameras with Hasselblad branding. The main camera uses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical stabilization. Next to it sits a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom. It also focuses as close as 10 cm for telemacro shots. An 8MP ultrawide camera covers a 116-degree field of view.
Both screens have an 8MP selfie camera. The rear cameras record up to 4K at 60fps, and the front cameras reach 4K at 30fps.
Battery and charging
A 5,600mAh silicon-carbon battery powers the phone. It uses two cells to fit the thin body. Wired charging reaches 80W, and a charger is included in the box. The phone also supports 50W wireless charging. However, OPPO says wireless charging works with its magnetic case.
Software and updates
The Find N5 launched with Android 15 and ColorOS 15. OPPO promises five years of security updates. However, it has not stated how many Android version upgrades the phone will get. The software includes split-screen multitasking, AI tools and a Mac connection app.
Should you buy the OPPO Find N5?
The Find N5 suits buyers who want a large inner screen in a thin and light foldable. It also fits people who value a periscope telephoto and fast wired charging. On the other hand, buyers in the US and Europe can only get it through importers. In addition, OPPO has since released the Find N6 as its newer book-style foldable.
