The OPPO Reno16 F 5G is the entry model of the Reno16 series. OPPO announced it on June 25, 2026, and UK sales began on July 3. In the UK, the 8 GB + 256 GB version costs £649. It is a mid-range phone and is not sold in the US. With 512 GB of storage, it is sold as the OPPO Reno16 FS 5G in the UK and Europe.
Design and display
The Reno16 F 5G has a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a 2372 x 1080 resolution. Pixel density is 397 ppi, and the refresh rate reaches 120 Hz. OPPO lists 1,400 nits in high brightness mode. The phone measures 158.16 x 74.93 x 8.44 mm and weighs about 194 g in Twilight Violet. Like the other Reno16 models, it is rated IP68 and IP69K. The Pop White color has the 3D planet effect on the back.
Performance
The phone runs on the Dimensity 7300. OPPO uses the Dimensity 7300-Energy version. It comes with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Unlike the Reno16 5G and Reno16 Pro 5G, it has a microSD card slot. Notebookcheck found the chip slow for the price in its review.
Cameras
The rear setup has a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens and optical stabilization. A 50 MP telephoto adds 3.5x optical zoom with OIS. The third camera is an 8 MP ultrawide. On the front, there is a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus. Video tops out at 4K and 30 fps on both sides.
Battery and charging
The UK and European model has a 6,500 mAh battery and 45 W SUPERVOOC charging. OPPO’s global page lists a 7,000 mAh battery with 80 W charging for other markets. There is no wireless charging. Notebookcheck measured long battery life in its test.
Software and updates
The phone ships with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. According to Notebookcheck, OPPO plans updates until 2032, six years after launch. NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and stereo speakers are included.
Should you buy the Reno16 F 5G?
The Reno16 F 5G suits buyers who want a large screen, a telephoto camera and strong water resistance. The microSD slot is useful for people who store a lot of media. On the other hand, the Dimensity 7300 offers modest performance at this price. The ultrawide camera is also only 8 MP. Buyers who want more speed can look at the Reno16 5G.
