The Oukitel WP68 Air is a slim rugged 5G phone built for everyday use. Oukitel announced it in July 2026, and sales started on July 27, 2026. It comes in one version with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Oukitel’s global store lists it at $419.99. It sits in the mid-range rugged segment.
Design and display
The WP68 Air measures 178.4 x 83.2 x 11.9 mm and weighs 309.5 g. That is thin and light for a rugged phone, and the slim build is its main selling point. The body carries IP68 and IP69K ratings, and Oukitel states MIL-STD-810H compliance. The phone comes in Orange, Black and Green.
The front has a 6.88-inch LCD panel with a 720 x 1640 resolution and 260 ppi. It refreshes at up to 120Hz. Oukitel quotes a typical brightness of 450 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 covers the screen. A fingerprint reader sits in the side button.
Performance
The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7025, a 6 nm chip. It has two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.5 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. Graphics come from an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. The chip is a common choice in budget 5G phones.
Memory is generous for the class. The phone has 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A microSD slot accepts cards of up to 2TB, but it shares a slot with the second SIM.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The main camera uses a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor with a 1/2-inch size, an f/1.8 lens and PDAF. Next to it sits an 8MP night vision camera with infrared fill lights. It records in black and white in the dark. A 2MP macro camera completes the set. Rear video tops out at 2K at 30fps, so 4K recording is not available.
On the front, a 32MP Sony IMX616 camera handles selfies and video calls. It records video at up to 1080p at 30fps.
Battery and charging
The WP68 Air uses an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. This chemistry helps Oukitel keep the body under 12 mm thick. Wired charging is rated at 45W, and a 45W charger comes in the box. Oukitel says a full charge takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes. There is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The phone ships with Android 16. The phone gets OTA updates. However, Oukitel has not promised a number of Android upgrades or years of security patches. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Should you buy the WP68 Air?
The WP68 Air suits buyers who want a rugged phone that still fits in a pocket. It offers full IP68 and IP69K protection, a large 8,000mAh battery and 512GB of storage. Its weak points are the low-resolution 720p screen and the 450-nit brightness for outdoor use. The Dimensity 7025 also limits gaming performance. If you need a thinner rugged phone for daily use, it is worth a look.
