The realme 16 Pro+ 5G is the top model of the 16 Pro series. realme announced it on January 6, 2026, together with the 16 Pro 5G. It launched first in India at INR 39,999. In February 2026 it arrived in Europe, where it starts at €499.90 for 8 GB + 256 GB. The phone is not sold in the US.
Design and display
Unlike the flat 16 Pro, the Pro+ has a curved display and a curved back. It measures about 162.45 x 76.27 x 8.49 mm and weighs about 198 g. The Master Gold and Master Grey versions use a bio-based organic silicone back with a leather-like feel. A reflective camera module stands out on the back.
The 6.8-inch AMOLED panel shows 1280 x 2800 pixels at 453 ppi. It refreshes at up to 144 Hz and reaches 1,800 nits in high brightness mode. realme quotes a 6,500-nit peak. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen.
The phone is rated IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. That covers dust, immersion and high-pressure water jets.
Performance
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 powers the phone. Its eight cores reach up to 2.8 GHz, and the Adreno 722 handles graphics. LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.1 storage support it. Versions go from 8 GB + 128 GB in India to 12 GB + 512 GB. There is no microSD slot.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 200 MP Samsung HP5 sensor (1/1.56 inch) with an f/1.8 lens and optical stabilization. A 50 MP periscope telephoto camera adds 3.5x optical zoom and its own stabilization. realme advertises up to 120x digital zoom. An 8 MP ultrawide camera with a 115.5-degree view completes the setup.
The 50 MP selfie camera has an f/2.4 lens. Both the rear and front cameras record 4K video at 60 fps.
Battery and charging
A 7,000 mAh battery sits inside, also in Europe. It charges at up to 80 W, and a charger is included. Bypass charging and wired reverse charging are supported. There is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The phone ships with realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16. In Europe, realme promises five Android upgrades and six years of security patches. Indian buyers get four Android upgrades and six years of patches after a February 2026 extension.
Extras include stereo speakers, NFC, an infrared blaster, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. European units support eSIM. The USB-C port runs at USB 2.0 speed, so wired video output is not possible.
Should you buy the realme 16 Pro+ 5G?
The Pro+ suits buyers who want optical zoom, a large battery and strong water resistance in a mid-range phone. European buyers keep the full 7,000 mAh battery and 80 W charging, unlike on the 16 Pro. If you need fast USB transfers or wireless charging, look elsewhere.
