The REDMI 15 is a budget 4G phone from REDMI with a 7,000 mAh battery. It is the 4G version of the REDMI 15 5G. Xiaomi introduced it in August 2025, and it reached the UK in September 2025. In Germany, Xiaomi’s own store lists it from €179.90 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. In the UK, it starts at £159. Outside these markets, the same phone is also sold as the POCO M7.
Design and display
The REDMI 15 has a large 6.9-inch FHD+ LCD panel. Its 2340 x 1080 resolution gives 374 ppi. The refresh rate goes up to 144 Hz, and the touch sampling rate reaches 288 Hz. Brightness is 700 nits typical and 850 nits in high brightness mode. The body is plastic, with a curved back and an aluminum alloy camera trim. It is rated IP64 for dust and splash resistance. Xiaomi lists it at 169.48 x 80.45 x 8.40 mm and 214 g.
Performance
Inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685, a 6 nm chip. It has eight cores up to 2.8 GHz and an Adreno 610 GPU. It comes with 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. A microSD slot adds up to 2 TB, but it shares space with the second SIM. Compared with the REDMI 15 5G, it uses the slower Snapdragon 685 instead of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. It also has no 5G and uses Bluetooth 5.0 instead of 5.1. The display, battery, charging and cameras are the same on both phones.
Cameras
The rear setup pairs a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens and a second auxiliary lens. There is no ultrawide or telephoto camera. The front camera has 8 MP and an f/2.0 lens. Both the rear and front cameras record video at up to 1080p at 30 fps. Xiaomi adds an auto night mode and Dynamic shots.
Battery and charging
The battery is a 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon cell. Xiaomi rates it for 1,600 charge cycles before capacity drops below 80%. Wired charging reaches 33 W, but no charger comes in the box. The phone can also charge other devices over the cable at up to 18 W. There is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The REDMI 15 ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. Xiaomi plans two Android upgrades, to Android 16 and Android 17. Security updates arrive every 90 days until October 2029. Gemini and Circle to Search are built in. Other features include NFC, an IR blaster, a side fingerprint reader and Wi-Fi 5.
Should you buy the REDMI 15?
The REDMI 15 suits buyers who want a big screen and long battery life for little money. It also keeps a microSD slot, NFC and an IP64 rating. However, it has no 5G, a mono speaker and only one useful rear camera. Buyers who need 5G or more speed should look at the REDMI 15 5G instead.
