The REDMI 15C 5G is a budget 5G phone from REDMI, Xiaomi’s value brand. It is the 5G sibling of the REDMI 15C, which is a 4G-only model with a slower chip. Xiaomi quietly launched the REDMI 15C 5G in Europe in September 2025, starting in Poland. It later reached Germany, France, Spain and Hungary. India followed in December 2025. In Europe, Xiaomi’s Spanish store lists the 4 GB + 128 GB model at €179.99. In India, it starts at INR 12,499. The phone is not sold officially in the US or the UK.
Design and display
The front is a 6.9-inch IPS LCD with a waterdrop notch. Its resolution is 1600 x 720 pixels, and it refreshes at up to 120 Hz. Touch sampling reaches up to 240 Hz. Xiaomi rates the brightness at 660 nits typical and 810 nits in high brightness mode. The panel uses DC dimming. Notebookcheck lists Gorilla Glass 3 on the front.
The body is plastic and measures 173.16 x 81.07 x 8.2 mm. It weighs 211 g, so it is a little larger and heavier than the 4G model. The phone has an IP64 rating against dust and splashes. Colors are Midnight Black, Mint Green and Dusk Purple. The purple back mixes glossy and matte panels.
Performance
The phone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, built on a 6 nm process. It has two Cortex-A76 cores at up to 2.4 GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. RAM is 4 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X, depending on the market. Storage is 128 or 256 GB of UFS 2.2. A microSD slot adds up to 1 TB.
Compared with the REDMI 15C, the main differences are the chip, the storage and 5G. The 4G model uses a Helio G81-Ultra with eMMC storage. Notebookcheck measured a 71% performance lead for the Dimensity 6300. In its review, it called the upgrade worthwhile for system speed and loading times.
Cameras
The rear has a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens, plus an auxiliary lens. The front camera has 8 MP and an f/2.0 lens. Both cameras record video at up to 1080p and 30 fps. Notebookcheck described the results as decent for the price.
Battery and charging
The 6,000 mAh battery supports 33 W wired charging. The phone can also charge other devices by cable at up to 10 W. Xiaomi says the battery keeps at least 80% of its capacity after 1,000 full cycles. In Notebookcheck’s Wi-Fi test, it lasted 18 hours and 35 minutes. A full charge took just under 1 hour and 40 minutes. The European box does not include a charger.
Software and updates
The REDMI 15C 5G ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. Google Gemini and Circle to Search are built in. For Europe, Notebookcheck reports six years of security updates until 2031. Upgrades are confirmed up to Android 17. For India, Xiaomi lists two Android upgrades and four years of security patches.
Should you buy the REDMI 15C 5G?
The REDMI 15C 5G suits buyers on a small budget who want 5G. It also offers a large screen and long battery life. It keeps a headphone jack, NFC, FM radio and a microSD slot. The screen resolution is low, and the speaker is mono. Buyers who do not need 5G can save money with the REDMI 15C, but they get a slower phone.
