The REDMI K90 Ultra is a gaming-focused flagship that Xiaomi announced in China on June 30, 2026. It went on sale the same day. In China, it starts at CNY 2,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model. Xiaomi has not announced a global version, so the phone is sold only in China for now.
Design and display
The phone has a flat 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a 2772 x 1280 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. Xiaomi rates the peak brightness at 3,500 nits. The panel supports HDR10+, HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision. In games, touch sampling can reach 3,500Hz.
The body measures 162.91 x 77.93 x 8.18 mm and weighs 227 g. It uses an aluminum frame. The phone carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and the built-in fan has its own IPX8 and IPX9 rating. Xiaomi offers it in Shadow Black, Space Silver and Sky Blue.
Performance
Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite, built on a 3nm process. Its eight cores run at up to 4.32GHz. Memory options are 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, with 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Two hardware features set it apart from most phones. First, a separate D2 graphics chip handles upscaling and frame interpolation in supported games. Second, an active cooling fan sits under the camera module, next to a 6,000 mm² vapor chamber. The fan has three modes that you can switch by hand.
Cameras
The rear setup has two cameras. The main one is a 50MP Light Hunter 800 sensor with a 1/1.55-inch size, an f/1.68 aperture and three-axis optical stabilization. It is joined by an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. There is no telephoto camera. The rear camera records video at up to 8K at 30fps or 4K at 60fps. On the front, a 20MP camera records 1080p video at up to 60fps.
Battery and charging
The phone packs an 8,550mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 100W wired charging, and a 100W charger comes in the box in China. It can also charge other devices over a cable at up to 22.5W. During games, bypass charging can power the board directly. Xiaomi does not list wireless charging.
Software and updates
The K90 Ultra runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. Xiaomi has not published an update policy for this model. The phone ships with Chinese firmware. Its 4G band list does not include LTE band 20, which matters for many European networks.
Should you buy the K90 Ultra?
The K90 Ultra suits mobile gamers in China who want a fan, a 165Hz screen and a very large battery at a midrange price. It also offers stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, an IR blaster and strong water resistance. Buyers outside China should weigh the lack of an official global version and the missing LTE band 20. Those who need a zoom camera or wireless charging should look at other models.
