The REDMI Note 14 5G is a mid-range Android phone that REDMI announced globally on January 10, 2025. Sales began on January 15, 2025. In Europe, the launch price was €299.90 for the 8 GB + 256 GB version. This page covers the global model with a 108 MP main camera. Phones sold under the same name in China and India use different cameras. REDMI also sells a cheaper 4G version called the REDMI Note 14. The Note 14 5G has since been followed by the REDMI Note 15 5G.
Design and display
The phone measures 162.4 x 75.7 x 7.99 mm and weighs 190 g. It has a plastic back and a flat 6.67-inch AMOLED display. The panel shows 2400 x 1080 pixels at up to 120 Hz. Xiaomi rates its peak brightness at 2,100 nits.
Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen, and the body is rated IP64 for dust and splashes. The phone keeps a 3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, NFC and an IR blaster. It comes in Midnight Black, Lavender Purple and Coral Green.
Performance
Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 in its Dimensity 7025-Ultra version for REDMI. It is a 6 nm chip with eight cores that reach up to 2.5 GHz. Graphics run on an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU.
Xiaomi lists 6 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 256 GB and 12 GB + 512 GB versions. All use LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage. A hybrid slot takes either a second SIM card or a microSD card of up to 1 TB.
Compared with the 4G REDMI Note 14, this model adds 5G. It also swaps the Helio G99-Ultra for the Dimensity chip. However, the 4G version has a larger 5,500 mAh battery.
Cameras
The rear has three cameras. The 108 MP main camera uses a 1/1.67-inch sensor, an f/1.7 lens and optical stabilization. An 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro camera complete the setup. Rear video recording tops out at 1080p and 30 fps.
On the front, a 20 MP selfie camera also records 1080p video at 30 fps.
Battery and charging
A 5,110 mAh battery powers the phone, and it supports 45 W wired charging. Wireless charging is not listed. Xiaomi says the battery keeps more than 80% of its capacity after four years or 1,600 charging cycles.
Software and updates
The Note 14 5G launched with Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14. Xiaomi plans two major Android upgrades and four years of security updates. That support period is shorter than the one promised for the REDMI Note 14 Pro models.
Should you buy the REDMI Note 14 5G?
The phone suits buyers who want 5G, a 120 Hz AMOLED screen and a headphone jack for little money. It also offers microSD expansion, NFC and an IR blaster. On the other hand, it gets only two Android upgrades, and Wi-Fi is limited to Wi-Fi 5. It also has no eSIM support. Buyers who want a newer model can look at its successor, the REDMI Note 15 5G.
