The Sony Xperia 10 VII is a compact mid-range phone with a fresh design. Sony announced it on September 12, 2025, and pre-orders opened the same day. Sales in Europe started on September 26, 2025, and Japan followed on October 9. In Europe, it costs €449, and the UK price is £399. Sony does not sell it in the US.
Design and display
This model drops the tall 21:9 shape of earlier Xperia 10 phones. It now has a wider 19.5:9 screen and a horizontal camera bar on the back. The phone measures 153 x 72 x 8.3 mm and weighs 168 g. The frame and back are plastic, while Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the display.
The 6.1-inch OLED panel has a 2340 x 1080 resolution. It now runs at 120 Hz, up from 60 Hz on the Xperia 10 VI. The phone is rated IP65 and IP68. Color options are White, Charcoal Black and Turquoise.
Performance
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, replacing the older Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. It has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. A microSD slot adds up to 2 TB more space.
Cameras
The main camera has a 50 MP 1/1.56-inch Exmor RS sensor and an f/1.9 lens with optical stabilization. Its sensor is about 1.6 times larger than in the previous model. The phone can also crop to a 48 mm view, which equals 2x zoom. The 13 MP ultrawide camera uses a 1/3-inch sensor and a 16 mm lens.
On the front, there is an 8 MP selfie camera. Rear video tops out at 4K and 30 fps. A new side shutter button opens the camera and takes photos with one press.
Battery and charging
The 5,000 mAh battery carries over from the Xperia 10 VI. Sony rates it for about two days of use. Adaptive charging helps protect battery health over time. The phone does not support wireless charging, and no charger comes in the box.
Software and updates
The Xperia 10 VII launched with Android 15. Sony promises four OS upgrades and six years of security updates, which is longer than the previous model. Other features include front-facing stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. The USB-C port runs at USB 2.0 speeds.
