The X300 Ultra is the top camera model of the vivo X300 series. vivo announced it in China on March 30, 2026, and sales there started on April 3. On April 15, the company launched it globally, which makes it the first X-series Ultra phone sold outside China. In Europe, it comes in a single 16 GB + 1 TB version with a recommended price of €1,999. It is not officially sold in the US.
Design and display
The phone has a 6.82-inch flat AMOLED screen with a 3168 x 1440 resolution and 510 ppi. The refresh rate adapts from 1 Hz to 144 Hz, and vivo lists a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The frame is aluminum, and Armor Glass covers the front.
The design borrows from classic cameras, with a round metal camera module and a knurled texture. The Volcano Black version uses a glass fiber back and weighs 232 g at 8.19 mm. The Steppe Green and Alpine White versions use a two-tone glass back and weigh 237 g at 8.49 mm. The phone is rated IP68 and IP69.
Performance
Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 3 nm chip with two cores at up to 4.6 GHz and an Adreno 840 GPU. It works with vivo’s own VS1+ imaging chip, which processes RAW data before the main processor. Global models have 16 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra Pro RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. There is no memory card slot.
Cameras
The rear system has three cameras with fixed focal lengths, and all of them have optical stabilization. The 35 mm main camera uses a 200 MP Sony LYTIA 901 sensor (1/1.12-inch) with an f/1.85 lens. The 85 mm periscope telephoto has a 200 MP Samsung ISOCELL HP0 sensor (1/1.4-inch). The 14 mm ultrawide uses a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 818 sensor (1/1.28-inch).
In addition, a 5 MP multispectral sensor with 12 color channels helps with white balance. All rear cameras record 4K video at 120 fps, including 10-bit Log and Dolby Vision. Optional ZEISS telephoto extenders give 200 mm and 400 mm equivalent focal lengths. The front camera has 50 MP.
Battery and charging
The battery is rated at 6,600 mAh. It supports 100W wired and 40W wireless charging, as well as bypass charging. The global box includes a charger and a case. However, European models ship without a charger.
Software and updates
The X300 Ultra launched with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. vivo promises five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. Other features include an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and a USB 3.2 port.
Should you buy the vivo X300 Ultra?
The X300 Ultra suits buyers who put cameras and video first. Two 200 MP cameras, stabilization on every lens and optional extenders set it apart from most phones. Long update support is another plus. On the other hand, the price is high, Europe gets only the 1 TB version, and the phone is not sold in the US.
