The Xiaomi 18 Pro is the compact model in Xiaomi‘s 2026 flagship lineup. Xiaomi announced it in China on September 23, 2026, alongside the larger 18 Pro Max. In China, it starts at CNY 5,999 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Xiaomi has confirmed a global launch later in 2026, but it has not shared international prices yet.
Design and display
The phone has a flat 6.4-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Xiaomi rates its peak brightness at 4,000 nits. The panel also has a hardware privacy mode that narrows viewing angles for chosen apps, notifications and floating windows. A customizable AI button can switch this mode on with one press.
Meanwhile, the back carries a 2.7-inch 120Hz secondary OLED display, a feature that returns from the Xiaomi 17 Pro. It shows notifications, quick controls and more than 100 app cards. The front is covered by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3. In addition, the phone is rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance.
Performance
The Xiaomi 18 Pro is the first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The chip is built on a 2nm process, and its fastest cores reach 5.0 GHz. The larger 18 Pro Max uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 instead. Xiaomi says the Extreme chip needs more room for cooling, so only the bigger model gets it.
Memory options include 12GB or 16GB of RAM with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Cameras
On the back, there are three Leica-branded cameras. The main camera uses a 200MP 1/1.28-inch sensor with an f/1.67 lens and optical stabilization. Next to it sits a 200MP periscope telephoto with 3.2x optical zoom and a 75mm equivalent focal length. It can also focus from 12cm for close-ups. A 50MP ultrawide camera completes the setup.
For selfies, the phone uses a 50MP front camera. The rear screen can also work as a viewfinder, so you can take selfies with the main cameras.
Battery and charging
The Chinese model has a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. For comparison, the Xiaomi 17 Pro had a 6,300mAh battery. Charging reaches 100W wired and 50W wireless, and the phone supports 27W reverse charging. However, the global version will likely ship with a smaller 6,000mAh battery, based on HyperOS code found by Notebookcheck.
Software and updates
The phone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 4, based on Android 17. It includes Super Xiao Ai 2.0, an assistant built on Xiaomi’s MiMo AI model. Xiaomi has not published an update policy for this model yet.
Should you buy the Xiaomi 18 Pro?
The Xiaomi 18 Pro suits buyers who want a smaller flagship with a large battery. It also fits people who value long zoom, since both rear 200MP cameras are high resolution. The rear display and hardware privacy mode are also useful extras.
On the other hand, the phone is only sold in China for now. Buyers outside China should wait for the global model, which may have a smaller battery. If you want the fastest chip and the largest battery, look at the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max instead.
