The Huawei Pura 90s Pro is a compact camera flagship for markets outside China. Huawei announced it on July 14, 2026, at a global launch event in Kuala Lumpur. In Europe, it starts at €899 for the 12GB + 256GB model. In China, the same phone is sold as the Huawei Pura 90 Pro, which launched there in April 2026.
Design and display
The phone measures 157.8 x 74.5 x 8.2 mm and weighs about 213.5 g. It has an aluminum frame and a glass back. The body carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust. Four colors are offered: Guava Soda, Orange Soda, Coconut White and Mulberry Black.
The flat 6.6-inch LTPO OLED panel has a resolution of 2760 x 1256 pixels and 460 ppi. Its refresh rate adapts from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. Second-generation Kunlun Glass protects the screen, and the fingerprint reader sits in the side power key.
Performance
Inside is Huawei’s Kirin 9030S chip. Every version has 12GB of RAM, with 256GB or 512GB of storage. There is no memory card slot. Unlike earlier global Huawei flagships, this model supports 5G. It also has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and an infrared port.
Cameras
The rear camera system has three lenses. The 50MP main camera has a physical variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0 and optical stabilization. Next to it are a 12.5MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom and stabilization. The telephoto lens can also focus from as close as 5 cm for macro shots.
A separate color sensor, which Huawei calls True-to-Colour Camera 2.0, helps with color accuracy. Both the rear and the 13MP front camera record video at up to 4K resolution.
Battery and charging
Outside the EU, the battery has a typical capacity of 6000 mAh. EU units have a rated capacity of 5270 mAh instead. Wired charging reaches 66 W with a Huawei SuperCharge charger. The phone also supports 50 W wireless charging with Huawei’s own wireless chargers, plus reverse wireless charging.
Software and updates
The global model runs EMUI 16, which is based on Android 16. Google apps and services are not preinstalled, so apps come from Huawei AppGallery. The Chinese Pura 90 Pro uses HarmonyOS 6.1 instead. Huawei has not published an update policy for this phone.
Should you buy the Huawei Pura 90s Pro?
The Pura 90s Pro suits buyers who want a variable-aperture main camera and a close-focusing telephoto lens. It does so in a 6.6-inch body. Its large battery, fast wireless charging and IP68 plus IP69 protection are also strong points. However, buyers who rely on Google apps should keep in mind that they are not included. Those who want the 200MP telephoto camera and faster charging can look at the larger Pura 90s Pro Max.
