The REDMI Note 13 Pro+ 5G is the top model of the Note 13 series. It brings a curved screen, IP68 protection and 120 W charging. Xiaomi announced it in China on September 21, 2023. The global launch followed on January 15, 2024. In Europe, it started at €449.90 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
Design and display
This is the first REDMI Note phone with a curved display. The 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED panel has a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels. It refreshes at up to 120 Hz and peaks at 1,800 nits. The screen supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Gorilla Glass Victus protects it.
All colors have a glossy glass back and a plastic frame. The phone is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 204.5 g. Its IP68 rating covers dust and freshwater down to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Colors are Midnight Black, Moonlight White and Aurora Purple. A Mystic Silver edition was also sold in Europe.
Performance
The chip is the MediaTek Dimensity 7200-Ultra, a version of the Dimensity 7200. It is built on a 4 nm process. Two Cortex-A715 cores run at up to 2.8 GHz, next to six Cortex-A510 cores. The GPU is a Mali-G610. Memory is LPDDR5 with faster UFS 3.1 storage. Versions are 8 GB with 256 GB and 12 GB with 512 GB.
Cameras
The 200 MP main camera has a 1/1.4-inch sensor, an f/1.65 lens and optical stabilization. An 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro camera sit next to it. The phone records 4K video at up to 30 fps. The 16 MP selfie camera films in 1080p at up to 60 fps.
Battery and charging
The battery has a typical capacity of 5,000 mAh. The phone supports 120 W HyperCharge, and the charger is in the box in most regions. Xiaomi says a full charge takes 19 minutes with boost mode on. There is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The phone shipped with MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Xiaomi promises three Android upgrades and four years of security patches. Its official end of security support is January 2028.
It has an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers and an IR blaster. Unlike the other Note 13 models, it has no headphone jack. It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and eSIM.
Should you buy the REDMI Note 13 Pro+ 5G?
The Note 13 Pro+ 5G suits buyers who want fast charging and water resistance at a mid-range price. The curved 1.5K screen and stabilized 200 MP camera add appeal. You give up the headphone jack and a microSD slot. Its successor, the REDMI Note 14 Pro+ 5G, is the newer choice.
