The Galaxy A08 is the most affordable phone in Samsung‘s 2026 Galaxy A lineup. It replaces the Galaxy A07. Samsung listed it on its regional websites in September 2026 without a launch event. Ukraine was the first market to get it, and India followed on October 1, 2026. In Ukraine, the 4GB + 128GB model launched at 10,699 hryvnias. The phone is not sold in the US. It targets buyers who want a large screen, a big battery and long software support for little money.
Design and display
The Galaxy A08 measures 167.4 x 77.4 x 8.0 mm and weighs 197 g. It comes in Silver, Green and Dark Blue. Samsung rates the body IP64, so it resists dust and water splashes. The fingerprint reader sits in the power button on the side.
The front has a 6.7-inch PLS LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. It refreshes at up to 90Hz, and a small notch holds the selfie camera. The pixel density is about 262 ppi, so text looks softer than on Full HD screens.
Performance
Inside is the MediaTek Helio G99, a 6nm chip. It pairs two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2GHz with six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. Samsung’s Indian product page calls it the Helio G99+. Graphics run on a Mali-G57 MC2.
The phone ships with 4GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options are 64GB and 128GB, depending on the market. A microSD slot adds up to 2TB, and RAM Plus can borrow storage as virtual memory. The A08 supports 4G LTE but not 5G.
Cameras
The rear has two cameras. The main one has 50MP and an f/1.8 lens with autofocus. A 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens assists with portrait shots. There is no optical stabilization and no ultrawide lens.
On the front, an 8MP f/2.0 camera handles selfies and video calls. The rear camera records video at up to 1080p and 30 frames per second.
Battery and charging
The battery has a typical capacity of 6,000mAh. That is 1,000mAh more than the Galaxy A07 offered. Wired charging reaches 25W over USB-C. However, Samsung sells the 25W charger separately, so it is not in the box.
Software and updates
The Galaxy A08 runs Android 17 with One UI 9. Samsung promises six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Security updates are listed until September 30, 2032. The phone also includes Knox Vault and Circle to Search.
Connectivity covers dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3 and dual Nano-SIM slots. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is still present. NFC is not listed in the official specifications.
Should you buy the Galaxy A08?
The Galaxy A08 suits buyers who want long software support at an entry-level price. The 6,000mAh battery, IP64 rating and microSD slot are useful extras in this class. Wired headphone users also get a 3.5 mm jack.
On the other hand, the HD+ screen, 4GB of RAM and Helio G99 chip limit gaming and heavy multitasking. There is no 5G, and NFC is missing from the specifications. If those features matter, a slightly more expensive model is a better fit.
