The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G is a mid-range Android phone. Samsung announced it on March 25, 2026, alongside the Galaxy A57 5G. Sales began on April 10, 2026, in select markets. In the US, it starts at $449.99 for 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It follows the Galaxy A36 5G, which launched at $399.
Design and display
The phone measures 162.9 x 78.2 x 7.4 mm and weighs 196 g. Gorilla Glass Victus+ covers both the front and the back, while the frame is plastic. The body is rated IP68, up from IP67 on the Galaxy A36 5G. Samsung’s rating covers submersion in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes.
The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel has a 1080 x 2340 resolution, or about 385 ppi. It refreshes at up to 120 Hz and reaches 1,900 nits at peak. Vision Booster keeps the image readable in bright light. An optical fingerprint reader sits under the display.
Performance
The Galaxy A37 5G runs on the Exynos 1480, a 4 nm chip. It replaces the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 used in the Galaxy A36 5G. The CPU pairs four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.75 GHz with four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. Graphics come from the Xclipse 530 GPU.
Global versions offer 6, 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage is 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1. The US model comes in 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB versions. There is no microSD slot. In addition, a vapor chamber helps manage heat during long gaming sessions.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The main camera uses a 50 MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical stabilization. It is joined by an 8 MP ultrawide (f/2.2) and a 5 MP macro camera (f/2.4). On the front, a 12 MP f/2.2 camera handles selfies.
Samsung says an improved image signal processor (ISP) reduces noise and improves low-light shots. The main sensor has 1.0 µm pixels. Both the rear and front cameras record 4K video at 30 fps. The front camera also supports Super HDR video.
Battery and charging
A 5,000 mAh battery powers the phone. It supports 45 W Super Fast Charging 2.0. According to Samsung, a 45 W charger brings it to 60% in about 30 minutes. However, that charger is sold separately, and the box includes only a USB-C cable. The phone does not support wireless charging.
Software and updates
The Galaxy A37 5G ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.5. Samsung promises six Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Features include Circle to Search, Object Eraser, Edit Suggestion and Voice Transcription in the Voice Recorder app. Samsung Knox Vault also protects sensitive data at the hardware level.
Should you buy the Galaxy A37 5G?
The Galaxy A37 5G suits buyers who want a large AMOLED screen and IP68 protection. Its six-year update promise also fits people who keep a phone for a long time. Stereo speakers, NFC and dual eSIM support round out the everyday features.
On the other hand, it lacks wireless charging, a telephoto camera and a microSD slot. The base US model also has only 128 GB of storage. For more speed, the Galaxy A57 5G uses the Exynos 1680 and starts at $549.
