The Samsung Galaxy S25+ is the middle model of the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung announced it on January 22, 2025, alongside the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Sales started on February 7, 2025, and the US price started at $999.99 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It sits in the flagship segment, between the smaller Galaxy S25 and the more expensive Ultra.
Design and display
The phone measures 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm and weighs 190 grams. It uses an Armor Aluminum frame, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covers both the front and the back. The body carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
The flat 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen has a QHD+ resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels, or about 513 pixels per inch. Its refresh rate adapts from 1Hz to 120Hz. Peak brightness is rated at 2,600 nits, and the panel supports HDR10+. The smaller Galaxy S25, by contrast, has a Full HD+ screen.
Performance
Every Galaxy S25+ uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite, in a version tuned for Galaxy phones. This “for Galaxy” chip has two cores at up to 4.47 GHz and six cores at up to 3.53 GHz, built on a 3nm process with an Adreno 830 GPU. Samsung also fitted a vapor chamber that is 40% larger than in the previous generation.
All versions come with 12GB of RAM. Storage options are 256GB and 512GB of UFS 4.0, and there is no microSD slot. Compared with the Galaxy S24+, the main changes are the new chip, Wi-Fi 7 and a newer Android version.
Cameras
The rear camera system has three lenses. The main camera uses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 12MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The front camera has 12MP. The rear cameras record video at up to 8K at 30 fps, and the front camera reaches 4K at 60 fps. Samsung added 10-bit HDR recording by default, Galaxy Log for color grading and an Audio Eraser tool for video.
Battery and charging
The Galaxy S25+ has a 4,900mAh battery, which is 900mAh more than the base Galaxy S25. Wired charging reaches 45W, and Samsung says it can charge to 65% in about 30 minutes with a 45W adapter. The phone also supports 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. However, no charger comes in the box.
Software and updates
The phone launched with Android 15 and One UI 7. Samsung promises seven generations of Android upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch. Galaxy AI features include Now Brief, Audio Eraser, Writing Assist and Circle to Search. In addition, a press of the side button opens Gemini.
Should you buy the Galaxy S25+?
The Galaxy S25+ suits buyers who want a large, sharp screen and a big battery without paying for the Ultra. It keeps fast 45W charging, Wi-Fi 7, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and a long update promise. On the other hand, it has no periscope camera or S Pen. Samsung has since released the Galaxy S26+ as its successor, so the S25+ is now the previous-generation model.
