The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 is a clamshell foldable phone. Samsung announced it on July 9, 2025, and sales started on July 25, 2025. In the US, it starts at $1,099.99 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is Samsung’s main flip phone of 2025 and sits above the cheaper Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. In July 2026, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip8 as its successor.

Design and display

The biggest change is the cover screen, which Samsung calls FlexWindow. It now measures 4.1 inches and runs edge to edge around the two rear cameras. The previous Galaxy Z Flip6 had a 3.4-inch cover screen. This Super AMOLED panel has a 1048 x 948 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Inside, the phone opens to a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 2520 x 1080 resolution. Its refresh rate adapts between 1Hz and 120Hz. Both screens reach a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, according to Samsung.

When folded, the phone measures 85.5 x 75.2 x 13.7 mm. Unfolded, it is 6.5 mm thick, and it weighs 188 grams. An Armor Aluminum frame holds Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back. The IP48 rating covers dust particles larger than 1 mm and submersion in fresh water.

Performance

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is the first Galaxy Z Flip with an Exynos chip instead of a Snapdragon. It uses the 3nm Exynos 2500 in every market. This 10-core processor reaches 3.3GHz and works with an Xclipse 950 GPU. Every version comes with 12GB of RAM, plus 256GB or 512GB of storage. There is no microSD card slot.

Cameras

The rear has two cameras. The main 50MP camera has an f/1.8 lens, Dual Pixel autofocus and optical image stabilization. Next to it sits a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 123-degree field of view. Inside, a 10MP selfie camera sits in a punch hole on the main screen. Thanks to the cover screen, the rear cameras can also take selfies while the phone is closed. Both the rear and front cameras record 4K video at 60fps.

Battery and charging

The battery has a typical capacity of 4,300mAh, up from 4,000mAh on the Galaxy Z Flip6. Wired charging tops out at 25W, and Samsung says it reaches 50% in about 30 minutes. The phone also supports 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging for accessories. However, the box only includes a USB-C cable, so you need to buy the charger separately.

Software and updates

The phone shipped with Android 16 and One UI 8. Samsung promises seven years of OS upgrades and security updates. In addition, Gemini Live and other Galaxy AI tools work directly on the cover screen. It is also the first Galaxy Z Flip that supports Samsung DeX.

Should you buy the Galaxy Z Flip7?

The Galaxy Z Flip7 suits buyers who want a compact phone with a large, usable cover screen. It also fits people who plan to keep a phone for many years, given the seven-year update promise. On the other hand, it has no telephoto camera, and its 25W charging is slow next to many rivals. The Galaxy Z Flip8 adds a newer chip and a thinner body, so compare prices before you buy.
