The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is the first Fan Edition model in the Galaxy Z lineup. Samsung announced it on July 9, 2025, at Galaxy Unpacked in New York. The Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 debuted at the same event. Sales started on July 25, 2025. In the US, it launched at $899.99 for the 128GB version. That places it below the regular Flip7 as a cheaper clamshell foldable.
Design and display
The phone folds to 85.1 x 71.9 x 14.9 mm and weighs 187 grams. Unfolded, it is 6.9 mm thin. The frame is Armor Aluminum, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covers the back and the cover screen. Samsung rates it IP48, so it handles immersion in fresh water down to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
Inside, there is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 2640 x 1080 resolution. Its adaptive refresh rate runs from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. On the outside, a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen shows widgets, notifications and a camera preview. Unlike the Flip7, this cover screen keeps the older folder-shaped cutout around the cameras. The phone comes in Black and White.
Performance
The Flip7 FE runs on the Exynos 2400, a 4 nm deca-core chip. It first appeared in the Galaxy S24. Its fastest core reaches 3.2 GHz, and graphics come from the Xclipse 940 GPU. Every version has 8GB of RAM, with 128GB or 256GB of storage. There is no microSD slot.
Cameras
The rear module has a 50 MP main camera with optical stabilization. Next to it sits a 12 MP ultrawide lens with a 123-degree view. Because the phone folds, these cameras also work for selfies from the cover screen. In Flex Mode, the half-open phone can stand on a table for hands-free photos and video. The inner screen has a 10 MP selfie camera. Rear video goes up to 4K at 60 fps.
Battery and charging
A 4,000 mAh dual battery powers the phone. Wired charging is rated at 25W. Samsung says it reaches about 50% in 30 minutes with its adapter. However, the adapter is sold separately. The Flip7 FE also supports 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare for charging earbuds or a watch.
Software and updates
The phone shipped with Android 16 and One UI 8. Galaxy AI tools such as Circle to Search and Interpreter are included. Samsung promises seven years of OS upgrades and security updates. In addition, Samsung Knox Vault protects sensitive data on the device.
Should you buy the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE?
The Flip7 FE suits buyers who want Samsung’s flip design and long software support for less than the Flip7. It keeps the same IP48 rating, 50 MP main camera and 120 Hz inner screen. On the other hand, the cover screen is smaller and the chip is older. It also has 8GB of RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery. If a large cover display or a bigger battery matters most, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the better match.
