The vivo V70 is an upper mid-range phone. vivo announced it on February 19, 2026, at a launch in India. It follows the V60 and sits below the India-only V70 Elite. The phone is sold in Europe, India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. Its main draw is a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. That is still uncommon at this price.
Design and display
The V70 has a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with 2750 x 1260 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. vivo rates its local peak brightness at 5,000 nits. The frame is aluminum. The Authentic Black version has a fiberglass back and weighs 187 g. The gray and gold versions use glass and weigh 194 g. The black model is 7.40 mm thick.
The phone carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. An ultrasonic fingerprint reader sits under the display, which is rare in this class.
Performance
Inside is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a 4 nm chip that runs at up to 2.8 GHz. It is the same chip that powered the V60. You get 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage is 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.1. There is no microSD slot.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The main camera uses a 50 MP sensor of 1/1.56 inches with an f/1.88 lens and optical image stabilization. The 50 MP periscope telephoto has a 1/1.95-inch sensor, OIS and 3x optical zoom. An 8 MP ultrawide camera completes the set.
On the front, a 50 MP selfie camera has autofocus and a wide 92-degree view for group shots. The rear cameras record 4K video at up to 60 fps. vivo also adds an AI Stage Mode for concerts.
Battery and charging
The V70 has a 6,500 mAh battery with 90 W wired charging and bypass charging. It does not support wireless charging. A charger comes in the box in markets such as Malaysia and India. In Europe, the box has no charger.
Software and updates
The phone ships with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Outside Europe, vivo promises four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates. In Europe, vivo states five OS updates and five years of security patches after EU sales end.
Should you buy the vivo V70?
The V70 suits buyers who want a real telephoto camera and strong water resistance. It also brings a secure fingerprint reader below flagship prices. It also has stereo speakers, NFC and an infrared blaster. On the other hand, the chip is the same as last year. The phone also lacks wireless charging and Wi-Fi 7. A newer V80 has already been announced, so check its price before buying.
