The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is a clamshell foldable announced in China on June 26, 2025. It replaces the Mix Flip and went on sale in China the same day. In China, it starts at CNY 5,999 for 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Xiaomi has not launched it in other markets, so buyers outside China can only get it as an import.
Design and display
When open, the Mix Flip 2 measures 166.9 x 73.8 x 7.57 mm and weighs 199 grams. Inside, there is a 6.86-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 2912 x 1224 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. On the outside, a 4.01-inch AMOLED cover screen runs at 120 Hz as well.
Xiaomi rates both screens for up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness. The cover screen can run many apps, including some third-party ones. However, the phone has no official IP rating for dust or water.
Performance
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 3 nm Qualcomm chip with an Adreno 830 GPU. A dual vapor chamber cooling system helps it hold its speed under load. You can choose 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. There is no microSD card slot.
Cameras
The rear setup has two 50 MP cameras with Leica Summilux optics. The main camera uses a Light Hunter 800 sensor with an f/1.7 lens and optical stabilization. The second camera is a 14 mm ultrawide, which replaces the 2x telephoto of the original Mix Flip.
The ultrawide also handles macro shots and has autofocus. Inside, there is a 32 MP selfie camera. Because of the flip design, you can also use the main cameras for selfies with the cover screen as a viewfinder.
Battery and charging
The Mix Flip 2 packs a 5,165 mAh silicon-carbon battery, up from 4,780 mAh in the Mix Flip. It supports 67 W wired charging. Wireless charging at 50 W is new for the series, since the first model lacked it. The USB-C port runs at USB 2.0 speeds.
Software and updates
The phone ships with HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. The China model has a limited choice of languages and no eSIM support. Xiaomi has not published an update policy for this model.
Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster and stereo speakers. A fingerprint reader sits in the power button.
Should you buy the Mix Flip 2?
The Mix Flip 2 suits buyers who want a flip phone with a flagship Snapdragon chip and a large battery. Its 50 W wireless charging and bright cover screen also stand out in this class.
Still, it is sold only in China. Imported units come with China firmware, no eSIM and no official warranty abroad. The lack of an IP rating is another drawback. If you need water resistance or local support, a phone sold in your region is the safer choice.
