The Blackview ROCK 5 is a rugged 4G phone with a 20,000mAh battery. It also packs a 348-lumen camping lantern and a 5W loudspeaker. Blackview presented it in mid-May 2026, and sales started on AliExpress on May 18. It comes in one Black color with 256GB of storage and either 6GB or 12GB of RAM. It targets field workers and campers who want a phone that doubles as a light and a power bank.
Design and display
This is a heavy device. It measures 184 x 83 x 29.7 mm and weighs 635 grams. The frame is made of aluminum alloy, and the corners are reinforced against shocks. Blackview lists IP68 and IP69K ratings plus MIL-STD-810H certification. The company also claims drop protection up to 6 meters and an operating range from -20°C to +60°C.
The front has a 6.78-inch IPS LCD with a 1080 x 2460 resolution and 396 ppi. It refreshes at up to 120Hz and reaches 700 nits. Panda Glass covers the panel, and Widevine L1 allows HD streaming. A glove mode and a rain touch mode help when the screen is wet or you wear gloves.
Performance
The ROCK 5 runs on the MediaTek Helio G100, a 6nm entry-level chip. It has two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2 GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz and a Mali-G57 GPU. Memory is LPDDR4X, and storage is UFS 2.2. In addition, the hybrid slot takes a microSD card of up to 2TB. In that case, it holds one SIM card.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor with a 1/1.67-inch size and an f/1.9 lens. Next to it sits a 20MP night vision camera with an infrared fill light. It can capture black-and-white images in complete darkness. There is no ultrawide or telephoto lens. Video recording tops out at 2K and 30 fps. On the front, a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 camera handles selfies and video calls.
Battery and charging
The 20,000mAh battery is the largest Blackview has put in a phone so far. The company quotes up to 2,280 hours of standby and 23 hours of navigation. Wired charging runs at 33W, and there is no wireless charging. The phone can also charge other devices over a cable at 5W. As a result, it works as a power bank for earbuds or a watch.
Software and updates
The ROCK 5 ships with DokeOS 5.0 based on Android 16. It includes the Hi Doki voice assistant, Gemini and a set of AI photo and video tools. Blackview promises three years of Android OS updates. Other features include NFC, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2 and an FM radio. The fingerprint reader sits in the power button. A customizable button can open the lantern, the camera or the SOS mode.
Should you buy the Blackview ROCK 5?
The ROCK 5 suits people who spend days away from chargers and want light and sound in one device. The huge battery, the lantern, the loud speaker and the night vision camera are its main strengths. However, it lacks 5G, a headphone jack and wireless charging. At 635 grams, it is also far heavier than a regular phone. If you need 5G or faster performance, a rugged phone with a newer Dimensity chip is a better fit.
