The Blackview Xplore 6 is a rugged 5G phone with flagship-class hardware. Blackview unveiled it at MWC 2026 in Barcelona in early March. It showed the phone again at IFA 2026 in September. Blackview calls it the first rugged flagship with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip. Pre-orders are open on the official Blackview store, but a final sale date has not been announced.
Design and display
This is a large and heavy phone. It measures 179.5 x 85.4 x 18.2 mm and weighs 428 grams. The body carries IP68 and IP69K ratings and meets MIL-STD-810H. Blackview says it can survive drops from two meters.
The main screen is a 6.73-inch AMOLED panel with a 3200 x 1440 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects it. On the back, a 1.47-inch AMOLED sub-display shows status information. It can also act as a viewfinder, so the main camera can take selfies.
Performance
The phone runs on the Dimensity 9400+, a 3nm octa-core chip. Blackview lists a top CPU clock of 3.63GHz. Every version has 18GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage is 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1, and the spec sheet lists no microSD slot.
Connectivity is up to date. The Xplore 6 supports dual 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. It takes two SIM cards and also supports eSIM. Dual-band L1 and L5 GPS works with GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS and NavIC.
Cameras
The back holds three 50MP cameras. They are a main camera, an ultra-wide camera and a periscope telephoto. The main sensor is 1/1.3 inches. The front camera also has 50MP.
The phone also works with an external teleconverter lens. It attaches to the protective case and works together with the periscope camera. In a hands-on at IFA, Notebookcheck saw it turn the 3x telephoto into a 10x optical view. The official store includes the teleconverter as a pre-order gift.
Battery and charging
The battery has a capacity of 12,000mAh. It supports 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. The official pre-order bundle also includes a charging dock, a protective case and earbuds.
Software and updates
The Xplore 6 runs DokeOS 5.3 based on Android 16. Blackview lists Gemini AI and creative tools among its features. Notebookcheck reports a promise of three years of Android updates. Blackview has not published a security update period.
Should you buy the Xplore 6?
The Xplore 6 suits people who work or travel outdoors and want a tough phone with a fast chip. Hikers, field workers and wildlife photographers may value the long-range telephoto camera and the large battery.
The trade-offs are clear. At 428 grams and 18.2 mm, it is much heavier and thicker than a regular phone. It comes in one color only. It is also not on sale yet. No full reviews of retail units have been published so far.
