The Motorola Edge (2026) is a mid-range phone for the US and Canada. Motorola announced it on June 2, 2026, and sales started on June 11, 2026. It launched at $599.99 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone comes in one color, PANTONE Martini Olive.
Design and display
The Edge (2026) is smaller than its predecessor. It measures 152.3 x 71.98 x 7.22 mm and weighs 160.5 g. The frame is plastic, and the back has a twill-inspired textured finish. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i covers the front.
The 6.3-inch Extreme AMOLED panel has a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels at 460 ppi. It refreshes at up to 120Hz and supports HDR10+. Motorola rates its peak brightness at 5,200 nits. The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, and Motorola also claims MIL-STD-810H durability.
Performance
The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7450. This octa-core chip pairs four cores at up to 2.6GHz with four efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. The GPU is an Arm Mali-G615 MC2. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
Storage is fixed at 128GB, and there is no microSD slot. That is half the base storage of the Edge (2025). Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC and USB-C 2.0. The SIM setup combines one nano-SIM with an eSIM.
Cameras
There are three rear cameras. The main camera uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical stabilization. It replaces the LYTIA 700 sensor of the previous model. A 50MP ultrawide camera with a 122-degree field of view also handles macro shots.
The third camera is a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS. Rear video tops out at 4K and 30fps. On the front, a 50MP selfie camera sits in a punch-hole cutout.
Battery and charging
The battery has a capacity of 5,000mAh, slightly less than the 5,200mAh of the Edge (2025). Motorola quotes up to 50 hours of use per charge. Wired charging runs at up to 60W, down from 68W. The phone also supports 15W wireless charging. No charger comes in the box, only a USB-C cable.
Software and updates
The Edge (2026) ships with Android 16. Motorola promises two Android OS upgrades. Security updates are planned for three years, until June 2029. Google Gemini handles voice control, and Google Photos editing tools such as Magic Eraser are included.
Should you buy the Motorola Edge (2026)?
The Edge (2026) suits buyers who want a compact phone with strong water resistance. A 3x telephoto camera and wireless charging are also included at this price. However, storage is limited to 128GB with no card slot. The update promise is also short compared with some rivals in this price range.
