The Motorola Edge 70 is an ultra-thin mid-range phone. It debuted in China in October 2025 as the Moto X70 Air. The global model followed on November 5, 2025, in Europe and the Middle East. Its starting price in Europe is €799. Motorola does not sell the Edge 70 in the US.
Design and display
The body measures 159 x 74 x 5.99 mm and weighs 159 g. Motorola uses an aluminum frame and a textured, nylon-inspired finish on the back. The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, plus MIL-STD-810H certification. Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front.
The 6.67-inch pOLED panel has a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels, or 446 ppi. It refreshes at up to 120 Hz and reaches a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It also supports HDR10+ and covers the full DCI-P3 color space. A Water Touch mode keeps the screen usable with wet hands.
Performance
Inside is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, an upper mid-range chip. Motorola pairs it with 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options are 256 GB and 512 GB. There is no microSD card slot.
Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. The phone takes one nano-SIM and one eSIM. Its USB-C port runs at USB 2.0 speeds.
Cameras
The rear setup has two 50 MP cameras. The main camera has an f/1.8 lens and optical image stabilization. The ultrawide camera covers a 120-degree view and also handles macro shots. A third module is a 3-in-1 light sensor, not a camera.
Unlike the Edge 60, the Edge 70 has no telephoto camera. The front camera also uses a 50 MP sensor. It records 4K video at 30 fps.
Battery and charging
Despite the slim body, the phone packs a 4,800 mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Motorola does not include a charger in the box. Instead, the box contains a cable and a magnetic protective case.
Software and updates
The Edge 70 ships with Android 16 and Motorola’s moto ai features. Motorola promises four Android OS upgrades. Security updates are listed until June 2031, which is more than five years after launch.
Should you buy the Edge 70?
The Edge 70 suits buyers who want a very thin and light phone. It still offers a large battery, wireless charging and strong water protection. However, there is no telephoto camera and no charger in the box. Buyers in the US will need to import it, as Motorola does not sell it there.
