The Motorola Moto G06 is an entry-level 4G phone. Motorola announced it on September 5, 2025, at IFA in Berlin, next to the Moto G06 Power. It replaces the Moto G05 and sells in Europe, the UK, the Middle East and Latin America. In Europe, it starts at €129 with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The phone is not officially sold in the US.
Design and display
The Moto G06 has a plastic frame and a vegan leather back in Pantone colors. It measures 171.35 x 77.5 x 8.31 mm and weighs 194 g. The body is rated IP64, so it resists dust and water splashes.
The front is a 6.88-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels. That works out to 263 ppi. The refresh rate goes up to 120 Hz, and peak brightness reaches 600 nits. Gorilla Glass 3 covers the screen, and Water Touch keeps it usable with wet fingers. Compared with the Moto G05, the screen is larger, and a waterdrop notch replaces the punch-hole.
Performance
The phone runs on the MediaTek Helio G81 in its Extreme version. It has two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.7 GHz. A Mali-G52 MC2 GPU handles graphics. RAM is 4 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4X. Storage options are 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. A microSD slot adds up to 1 TB.
Cameras
The rear has one 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens and Quad Pixel autofocus. An ambient light sensor sits next to it. The front camera has 8 MP and an f/2.0 lens. Both cameras record video at up to 1080p and 30 fps. Google Photos tools such as Magic Editor and Photo Unblur are built in.
Battery and charging
The battery holds 5200 mAh, and Motorola rates it for two days of use. Wired charging tops out at 10 W, down from 18 W on the Moto G05. In Europe, the box does not include a charger. The Moto G06 Power uses the same design with a 7000 mAh battery and 18 W charging.
Software and updates
The Moto G06 ships with Android 15. Motorola promises two years of security updates, until August 2027. No Android version upgrades are promised. The phone also has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Should you buy the Moto G06?
The Moto G06 suits buyers who want a large 120 Hz screen and IP64 protection for a low price. A headphone jack and a microSD slot add practical value. On the other hand, the HD+ panel, 10 W charging and the short update window are clear limits. If battery life matters most, the Moto G06 Power adds a bigger battery for a small extra cost.
