The Moto G77 is a mid-range 5G phone from Motorola. It was announced on January 28, 2026. Sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa started the same day. In the UK, it starts at £249.99 with 128 GB of storage. In Europe, the 256 GB model costs €299.99. Later, Motorola also launched it in Latin America, including Mexico and Guatemala. Motorola does not sell it officially in the US.
Design and display
The phone is 7.33 mm thick and weighs 182 g. Its back has a soft-touch finish, and it comes in two Pantone colors: Shaded Spruce and Black Olive. It has an IP64 rating, so it is dust-tight and handles splashes. However, it is not made for submersion. Motorola also tested it against MIL-STD-810H procedures.
The front is a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1272 x 2772 pixels. It refreshes at up to 120 Hz and reaches up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. The panel shows 10-bit color and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen, and the fingerprint reader sits under the display.
Performance
The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400. It is a 6 nm chip with a top CPU speed of 2.5 GHz and Mali-G57 MC2 graphics. All versions have 8 GB of RAM, and RAM Boost can add up to 16 GB of virtual memory. Storage options are 128 GB and 256 GB. A microSD slot supports cards up to 2 TB.
Cameras
The rear has two cameras. The main camera has 108 MP and an f/1.7 aperture. It merges nine pixels into one for brighter shots. Motorola also offers a 3x lossless zoom mode from the large sensor. This is the first 108 MP camera with 3x lossless zoom in a Moto G phone. Next to it is an 8 MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
A 32 MP camera handles selfies. The rear cameras record video at up to 2K and 30 fps. The main camera also records 1080p at 60 fps. Unlike the Moto G75, the phone cannot record 4K video.
Battery and charging
The battery has a typical capacity of 5,200 mAh. Wired charging tops out at 30 W with TurboPower. However, the UK box includes only a USB cable, so the charger is sold separately there. There is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The Moto G77 ships with Android 16 and Motorola’s Hello UX. Motorola plans three major Android upgrades and security updates until June 2030. The phone also includes Gemini, Circle to Search and the Moto Secure app. Other features are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 5. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, so wired audio goes through the USB-C port.
Should you buy the Moto G77?
The Moto G77 suits buyers who want a bright, sharp AMOLED screen in a slim body. It also suits people who want expandable storage, eSIM support and stereo speakers. On the other hand, the Dimensity 6400 is a modest chip for heavy gaming. In addition, it lacks 4K video and Wi-Fi 6. For a lower price, the Moto G67 has the same screen. However, its chip and main camera are weaker.
