The Motorola Razr Fold is the first book-style foldable from Motorola. The company first showed it at CES on January 6, 2026, and shared full specs at MWC in March. Sales started in the UK and Europe on May 6, 2026, followed by the US on May 21. In the US, the only version has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and costs $1,899.99. That places it in the premium foldable segment, next to Samsung and Google models.
Design and display
When closed, the Razr Fold works like a regular phone with a 6.6-inch LTPO pOLED cover screen. This outer panel runs at up to 165Hz and reaches 6,000 nits at peak. It is also the first phone with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3.
Inside, the phone opens to an 8.1-inch LTPO pOLED display with a resolution of 2484 x 2232 pixels. It refreshes at up to 120Hz and peaks at 6,200 nits. A stainless steel teardrop hinge and a titanium plate support the fold. The phone weighs 243 g and carries IP48 and IP49 ratings. It also supports the Moto Pen Ultra stylus, which is sold separately in the US.
Performance
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a 3nm chip with CPU speeds of up to 3.8GHz. It is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. In India, Motorola also sells a 12GB + 256GB version. There is no microSD slot. Motorola adds a liquid cooling system to keep performance steady during long sessions.
Cameras
The rear has three 50MP cameras. The main camera uses a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYTIA 828 sensor with an f/1.6 lens and optical stabilization. Next to it sits a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 122-degree view, which also handles macro shots.
In addition, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera offers 3x optical zoom with optical stabilization. The rear cameras can record 8K video at 30fps. For selfies, there is a 20MP camera on the cover screen and a 32MP camera on the inner display.
Battery and charging
A 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery powers the phone. It supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging with Motorola chargers. However, the US box contains only a USB-C cable, so the charger is sold separately.
Software and updates
The Razr Fold ships with Android 16 and Motorola’s Hello UX interface. Motorola promises up to seven Android upgrades and up to seven years of security updates. As a result, this is one of the longest update promises among Motorola phones. The software also includes moto ai tools and split-screen features built for the larger screen.
Should you buy the Motorola Razr Fold?
The Razr Fold suits buyers who want a large foldable with stylus support and a big battery. Its 6,000mAh cell and 80W charging stand out in this class. The three 50MP cameras also include a periscope lens. On the other hand, it is heavier and thicker than some rivals, and it lacks magnets for Qi2 accessories. Meanwhile, long software support makes it a solid long-term choice for people who keep phones for years.
