The Motorola Signature is the first phone in Motorola’s new Signature series, which sits above the Edge lineup. Motorola announced it on January 6, 2026, and sales started on January 30, 2026. In Europe, it launched at €999 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. India also gets 12GB/256GB and 16GB/1TB versions. Motorola has not released the phone in the US. In China, the same phone is sold as the Motorola Moto X70 Air Pro.

Design and display

The phone is 6.99mm thick and weighs 186 grams. It uses an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front. The back has a textured finish: twill-inspired on PANTONE Martini Olive and linen-inspired on PANTONE Carbon. In April 2026, Motorola added a PANTONE Violet Indigo edition with Swarovski crystals.

The 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED panel has a 2780 x 1264 resolution. Its LTPO refresh rate goes up to 165Hz. Motorola rates its peak brightness at 6,200 nits. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The phone is rated IP68 and IP69 and also meets MIL-STD-810H.

Performance

It runs on the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This is not the faster 8 Elite Gen 5. Its CPU reaches 3.8GHz, and the GPU is the Adreno 829. European models pair it with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. There is no microSD slot. For cooling, Motorola adds a copper mesh, liquid metal and a 6,002mm² vapor chamber.

Cameras

All four cameras use 50MP sensors. The main camera has a Sony LYTIA 828 sensor (1/1.28-inch), an f/1.6 lens and OIS. A 50MP periscope telephoto with a Sony LYTIA 600 sensor gives 3x optical zoom and also has OIS. The 50MP ultrawide covers 122 degrees and doubles as a macro camera.

The rear cameras record up to 8K at 30fps with Dolby Vision. The 50MP front camera uses a Sony LYTIA 500 sensor and records 4K video. DXOMARK gave the phone its Gold Label for camera performance.

Battery and charging

The battery is a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon cell. It supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging with a compatible charger. In addition, the phone can charge other devices at 10W wirelessly or 5W by cable. In the UK and Europe, the box includes a protective case but no charger.

Software and updates

The Motorola Signature ships with Android 16 and moto ai features. Motorola promises seven Android OS upgrades and up to seven years of security updates. This is Motorola’s longest update policy so far. Google Gemini is the built-in voice assistant.

Should you buy the Motorola Signature?

The phone suits buyers who want a thin, light flagship with four 50MP cameras and strong durability ratings. It also fits people who keep a phone for many years. However, gamers may prefer phones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. US buyers can only get it as an import. Its successor, the Motorola Signature 27, was announced in September 2026.
