The nubia NaviX Ultra is an AI-focused flagship phone from nubia, the ZTE sub-brand. It launched in China on September 16, 2026, and went on sale the same day. nubia calls it an AI agent phone. Its main software feature is the Doubao Mobile Assistant from ByteDance. It can carry out tasks across several apps from one spoken request. In China, it starts at CNY 5,999 for the 12GB + 512GB model. The phone is sold only in mainland China for now.
Design and display
The phone has a flat 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 2800 x 1260 resolution. It uses an LTPO panel that adjusts its refresh rate from 1Hz to 144Hz. nubia rates peak brightness at 4,500 nits and lists HDR Vivid support. The bezels measure 1.09 mm on all four sides.
The body is 7.62 mm thick and weighs about 208 grams. A horizontal camera bar sits at the top of the back. On the side, an orange AI key wakes the assistant. It also has a built-in fingerprint sensor. A second, ultrasonic fingerprint reader sits under the display. The phone comes in White, Black, Blue Realm and Dream colors.
Performance
Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, built on a 3nm process with a top CPU clock of 4.6 GHz. It pairs with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X memory. Every model starts at 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, and a 1TB version is also sold. A 7,100 square millimeter vapor chamber handles cooling.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The main camera uses a 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor with an f/1.6 lens and optical stabilization. Next to it is a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and its own stabilization. A 50MP ultrawide camera covers a 115.6-degree view and supports autofocus. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera. nubia also adds voice-guided shooting and AI photo editing tools.
Battery and charging
The battery is a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon cell. Despite that capacity, the phone stays under 8 mm thick. It supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging is also supported, so it can top up earbuds or another phone.
Software and updates
The NaviX Ultra runs Android 16 with nubia’s Nebula AIOS 2 interface. The Doubao assistant can answer questions about what is on the screen and book rides through partner apps. It can also summarize call recordings through Lark. Tasks can run in the background and wait in a queue. nubia has not announced how many years of Android and security updates the phone will get. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an IR blaster and stereo speakers.
Should you buy the nubia NaviX Ultra?
The NaviX Ultra suits buyers in China who want a large battery in a thin body. It also fits people who want a phone built around a voice assistant. It also offers a 200MP main camera and a 3x periscope lens. However, it is sold only in China, and its software targets Chinese apps and services. nubia has not published an official water resistance rating or an update policy. Buyers outside China should wait for a possible global launch or look at nubia’s Z-series phones instead.
