The OPPO Reno13 5G is a compact upper mid-range phone. OPPO announced the Reno13 series in China on November 25, 2024. The global version followed in January 2025. In the UK, it went on sale on April 3, 2025, priced at £499. It is not officially sold in the US.
Design and display
The phone has a flat 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a 1256 x 2760 resolution. The refresh rate goes up to 120Hz, and peak brightness in high brightness mode reaches 1,200 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i covers the front.
The body is 7.24 mm thin and weighs about 181 grams. OPPO uses an aluminum frame and a one-piece glass back. The phone passed IP66, IP68 and IP69 tests for dust and water resistance. It comes in Plume White and Luminous Blue.
Performance
Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350, a 4nm chip that OPPO tuned together with MediaTek. The European model pairs it with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Other markets also get 8GB and 512GB versions. There is no microSD slot.
For connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. It also has an infrared blaster and stereo speakers.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The main one uses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical image stabilization. Next to it are an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP monochrome sensor. There is no telephoto lens.
On the front, a 50MP selfie camera has autofocus. Both the rear and the front cameras record 4K video at up to 60fps. OPPO also adds an underwater photo mode and AI editing tools.
Battery and charging
The battery has a typical capacity of 5,600mAh. Wired charging reaches 80W with SUPERVOOC. OPPO says a full charge takes about 48 minutes in its lab tests. The UK box does not include a charger.
OPPO also claims the battery keeps over 80% of its capacity after five years of daily cycles. The official specs list no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The Reno13 5G ships with ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. In the UK, OPPO promises five years of OS updates and six years of security support. Google Gemini and OPPO AI tools are built in.
Should you buy the OPPO Reno13 5G?
The phone suits buyers who want a small, light phone with strong water resistance. It also offers a large battery and fast wired charging for its size. However, it lacks a telephoto camera and wireless charging. The newer Reno14 5G has since replaced it in the lineup.
