The realme 11 Pro+ 5G is a mid-range phone with a 200MP main camera. It also has a designer vegan leather back. realme announced it in China on May 10, 2023, and sales there began on May 15. India followed in June, and Europe got it on June 20, 2023. In Italy, the 12GB/512GB version launched at €519.99. It is not officially sold in the US.
Design and display
Matteo Menotto, a former Gucci prints designer, shaped the back. Its look takes cues from Milan. Sunrise Beige and Oasis Green use vegan leather with a stitched center strip. Astral Black has a plastic back instead, so it is thinner at 8.2 mm and lighter at 183 g. The leather versions measure 8.7 mm and weigh 189 g.
All three colors were sold in China, India and Europe. The front is a 6.7-inch curved OLED panel with a 2412 x 1080 resolution. It refreshes at up to 120Hz, and realme quotes 950 nits of local peak brightness. Low-brightness PWM dimming runs at 2160Hz. There is no IP rating for water or dust resistance.
Performance
The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7050, a 6nm chip. Its CPU cores reach 2.6 GHz, and graphics run on a Mali-G68 GPU. Memory options range from 8GB to 12GB of RAM. Storage starts at 256GB and reaches 1TB in China. Europe received the 12GB/512GB version. There is no microSD slot.
Cameras
The main camera uses the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor. It measures 1/1.4 inches and sits behind an f/1.69 lens with optical stabilization. realme adds in-sensor zoom for 4x crops of the full sensor. An 8MP ultrawide camera covers a 112-degree view, and a 2MP macro camera handles close-ups. Rear video tops out at 4K and 30fps. The 32MP selfie camera records 1080p video.
Battery and charging
A 5,000mAh battery powers the phone. It supports 100W SUPERVOOC wired charging, and the 100W adapter comes in the box. There is no wireless charging. The box also includes a protective case and a screen film.
Software and updates
The phone shipped with realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13. Notebookcheck reported that realme planned Android 14 and Android 15 updates and security patches until 2026. Stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos and carry Hi-Res Audio certification. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC are on board.
Should you buy the realme 11 Pro+ 5G?
This phone suits buyers who want a high-resolution main camera and very fast charging at a mid-range price. The leather finish also stands out in this class. Still, the lack of an IP rating limits it near water. The software support window is short by current standards. Its successor, the realme 12 Pro+ 5G, adds a periscope telephoto camera. Buyers who need longer updates should look at newer models.
