The REDMAGIC 12 Pro is a gaming phone that REDMAGIC announced globally on November 3, 2026. Open sales start on November 18, 2026, with Early Bird orders a day earlier. In the US, it starts at $949 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. In Europe, it costs €899. In China, the same phone is sold as the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+, which launched on October 15, 2026.
Design and display
The phone measures 163.03 x 75.96 x 8.55 mm and weighs 223 g. That makes it thinner and lighter than the 11S Pro, despite the larger battery. It has an aluminum alloy frame and a transparent Gorilla Glass GG7i back. The cameras sit flush with the rear panel. An RGB ring lights up the liquid cooling loop. Colors are Nightfreeze (black) and Subzero (silver), and a blue Skyfrost version is due later. China also gets a limited Golden Saga edition.
On the front, there is a 6.85-inch BOE X11 AMOLED panel with a 2688 x 1216 resolution. It refreshes at up to 185Hz and reaches 1,900 nits globally and 5,000 nits locally. The 16MP selfie camera sits under the display, so the screen has no notch or hole. The phone is rated IP68 and IP69, while the fan is rated IPX8 only. It also has 520Hz capacitive shoulder triggers.
Performance
The 12 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, built on a 2nm process. Its CPU reaches up to 5GHz. REDMAGIC pairs it with its own RedCore R5 gaming chip and a G1 display control chip. Memory options are 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra Pro RAM. Storage goes up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro. There is no microSD slot.
Cooling is the main focus. The AquaCore 3.0 system uses two liquid loops, one over the chip and one over the battery. It adds a 25,500 RPM fan, a vapor chamber and Liquid Metal 4.0.
Cameras
The rear setup has two cameras. The main camera uses a 50MP 1/1.56-inch OV50J sensor with an f/1.89 lens and optical stabilization. Next to it, there is a 50MP ultrawide with an f/2.2 lens. There is no telephoto camera. Video recording goes up to 8K at 30fps. The 16MP under-display front camera has an f/2.0 lens and records up to 1080p.
Battery and charging
The 8,400mAh battery is 12% larger than the one in the 11 Pro, according to REDMAGIC. It supports 80W wired and 80W wireless charging, plus wired and wireless reverse charging. No charger comes in the box. Early Bird buyers get a free 80W charger. The China model has the same capacity but charges at 120W over a cable.
Software and updates
The phone ships with REDMAGIC OS 12 based on Android 17, with Gemini built in. REDMAGIC promises two major Android upgrades and three years of security updates from launch. Other features include stereo speakers, NFC, an IR blaster and Bluetooth 6.0. The USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port supports DisplayPort output. REDMAGIC has dropped the 3.5 mm headphone jack on this model. The phone takes two nano-SIM cards but does not support eSIM.
Should you buy the REDMAGIC 12 Pro?
The REDMAGIC 12 Pro suits mobile gamers who want sustained performance, shoulder triggers and a screen without a cutout. The large battery and fast wireless charging also help in daily use. However, buyers who care most about photos should note the lack of a telephoto camera. Buyers who use wired headphones should note that this model has no 3.5 mm jack, unlike the 11S Pro. The software support window is also shorter than on many flagships.
