The REDMI Note 11S is a 4G mid-range phone from 2022. It was announced globally on January 26, 2022, together with the Note 11. In Germany, the 6 GB + 64 GB version launched at €249.90. Its main upgrade over the Note 11 is a 108MP camera. The phone is now discontinued and no longer sold in Xiaomi’s official store.
Design and display
The Note 11S shares its body with the Note 11. It measures 159.87 x 73.87 x 8.09 mm and weighs 179 g. Both the frame and the back are plastic. Notebookcheck notes that the IP53 rating of the Note 10S was dropped for this model.
The 6.43-inch AMOLED DotDisplay has a 2400 x 1080 resolution and 409 ppi. It refreshes at up to 90Hz with a 180Hz touch sampling rate. Brightness reaches 700 nits in high brightness mode and 1,000 nits at peak. Colors were Graphite Gray, Twilight Blue and Pearl White. In India, they were sold as Space Black, Horizon Blue and Polar White.
Performance
The phone uses the MediaTek Helio G96 with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Its eight CPU cores run at up to 2.05 GHz. Memory options were 6 GB + 64 GB, 6 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 128 GB. Storage is UFS 2.2, and a microSD slot supports cards up to 1 TB.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor. The sensor measures 1/1.52 inches, and the lens has an f/1.9 aperture. Nine-in-one pixel binning creates larger 2.1μm pixels. An 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor complete the setup. The front camera has 16MP. Video recording tops out at 1080p and 30 fps on both sides.
Battery and charging
The battery is rated at 5,000mAh. The phone supports 33W Pro fast charging over USB-C. A 33W charger is included in the box. Wireless charging is not supported.
Software and updates
The Note 11S shipped with MIUI 13 based on Android 11 and later received Android 12. Xiaomi’s official update list ended its security support on January 28, 2025. Other features include dual SIM, NFC in some markets, an IR blaster and dual speakers. It also keeps a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 are supported, but 5G is not.
Should you buy the REDMI Note 11S?
The REDMI Note 11S is no longer produced, and its security updates have ended. A used unit still offers a sharp 108MP main camera and a 90Hz AMOLED screen. It also has a large battery and a headphone jack. Without security patches, it is a weak fit for banking or work apps. Buyers who need long support should look at a newer REDMI Note model.
