The Samsung Galaxy A14 is the 4G version of Samsung’s entry-level A14 lineup. It appeared on Samsung’s websites on February 28, 2023, about two months after the Galaxy A14 5G. The phone was never sold in the US. In Germany, its suggested price for the 64 GB model was €179. Samsung has since replaced it with the Galaxy A15, and the A14 is no longer part of its lineup.
Design and display
The A14 has a plastic frame and a plastic back with a fine striped texture. It measures 167.7 x 78 x 9.1 mm and weighs 201 grams. There is no IP rating for water or dust resistance.
The 6.6-inch PLS LCD panel has a 1080 x 2408 resolution, or about 400 pixels per inch. It runs at 60 Hz, while the A14 5G gets a 90 Hz screen. A fingerprint reader sits in the power button on the right side.
Performance
European models use the MediaTek Helio G80, a 12 nm chip with two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores. Some markets, such as Latin America and parts of Asia, get an Exynos 850 version instead. The phone ships with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of eMMC storage. A microSD slot takes cards up to 1 TB.
The 5G sibling uses a faster Dimensity 700 chip, UFS 2.2 storage and a 90 Hz display. It also adds 5G and swaps the ultrawide camera for a depth sensor.
Cameras
On the back, there are three cameras. The main sensor has 50 MP and an f/1.8 lens with phase-detection autofocus. It sits next to a 5 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro camera. The front camera has 13 MP. Video recording tops out at 1080p and 30 frames per second.
Battery and charging
A 5,000 mAh battery powers the phone. It supports 15 W wired charging over USB-C. Samsung does not include a charger in the box in Europe, only a USB-C cable.
Software and updates
The A14 launched with Android 13 and One UI Core 5. Samsung promised two major Android upgrades and four years of security updates. As a result, the phone moved to Android 15 with One UI 7 in 2025. It also keeps a 3.5 mm headphone jack and NFC in Europe.
Should you buy the Galaxy A14?
The Galaxy A14 is no longer produced, and its successor is the Galaxy A15. It may still suit buyers who want a cheap phone with a large screen, a big battery and a headphone jack. However, its slow eMMC storage, 60 Hz display and 4G-only modem show its age. Security support is expected to end in 2027.
