The ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra is a large flagship phone that ASUS announced on March 14, 2024. It went on sale in Taiwan and Hong Kong the next day. In the US, it launched at $899.99 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. In Europe, it started at €999, and a 16GB/512GB model cost €1,099. A direct successor, the Zenfone 12 Ultra, arrived in 2025.
Design and display
This model breaks with the compact Zenfone tradition. Its 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel has a 2400 x 1080 resolution. The refresh rate moves between 1 Hz and 120 Hz in daily use and reaches 144 Hz in games. ASUS rates peak brightness at 2,500 nits.
Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covers the screen, and the frame is aluminum. The phone measures 163.8 x 76.8 x 8.9 mm and weighs 225 g. It carries an IP68 rating. Colors include Eternal Black, Misty Grey, Skyline Blue and Desert Sand. Verdure Green was added in mid-2024, only with 12GB/256GB.
Performance
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with an Adreno 750 GPU. It pairs LPDDR5X memory with UFS 4.0 storage, and there is no microSD slot. Under the skin, the hardware closely matches the ASUS ROG Phone 8, but without the gaming extras.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 50 MP Sony IMX890 sensor with an f/1.9 lens. A six-axis gimbal stabilizer keeps it steady. Next to it sits a 13 MP ultrawide with a 120-degree view. A 32 MP telephoto adds 3x optical zoom and OIS.
The main camera records video in up to 8K at 24 fps. On the front, a 32 MP RGBW sensor outputs 8 MP photos and films in 1080p.
Battery and charging
A 5,500 mAh battery powers the phone. Wired charging reaches 65 W over USB-C, and Qi wireless charging tops out at 15 W. However, ASUS does not include a charger in the box. The USB-C port runs at USB 2.0 speeds.
Software and updates
The Zenfone 11 Ultra shipped with Android 14 and a light Zen UI skin. ASUS promised two major Android upgrades and four years of security patches. The phone also adds AI tools, such as call translation and noise cancellation.
In January 2026, ASUS said it would release no new phones that year. Still, it pledged to keep updates and warranty service for existing models.
Should you buy the ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra?
This phone suits people who want a big screen, flagship speed and a large battery. It also keeps a 3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo speakers and dual physical SIM slots. On the other hand, it has no eSIM, and the software support window is short. Buyers who want newer hardware can look at the Zenfone 12 Ultra.
