The Huawei Pura 80 Pro is a camera-focused flagship that sits below the Pura 80 Ultra. Huawei announced it in China on June 11, 2025, and sales there started on June 14, 2025. The global version launched in July 2025 and arrived in Europe in October 2025. In Europe, it costs €1,099 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The phone is not officially sold in the US.
Design and display
The Pura 80 Pro has a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2848 x 1276 pixels. Its refresh rate adapts from 1 to 120Hz. Huawei rates peak brightness at 3,000 nits and uses 1440Hz PWM dimming. Second-generation Kunlun Glass covers the screen.
The phone measures 163 x 76.1 x 8.3 mm and weighs about 219 grams. It combines an aluminum frame with a glazed glass back. The body is rated IP68 and IP69. The fingerprint reader is built into the power button.
Performance
The Pura 80 Pro runs on the HiSilicon Kirin 9020, the same chip as the Ultra. It has eight cores with a top clock of 2.5GHz and a Maleoon 920 GPU. Every version has 12GB of RAM. China also gets 256GB and 1TB storage options. There is no microSD slot.
The global model supports 4G LTE but not 5G. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, eSIM support and an IR blaster. The USB-C port supports USB 3.1 Gen 1.
Cameras
The main camera has a 50MP 1-inch sensor with a variable f/1.6 to f/4.0 aperture and OIS. The 48MP telephoto offers 4x optical zoom, OIS and close-up macro shots. A 40MP ultrawide camera completes the setup. A spectral sensor with 1.5 million channels helps with color.
Rear video goes up to 4K. The front camera has 13MP with autofocus and also records 4K video.
Battery and charging
The global model has a 5,170mAh battery (rated value). The China version lists 5,700mAh as its typical capacity. Huawei SuperCharge reaches 100W wired and 80W wireless. Reverse wireless charging is supported too. The charger is included in the box.
Software and updates
The global Pura 80 Pro runs EMUI 15 without Google Mobile Services. Apps are installed through Huawei AppGallery. In China, the phone runs HarmonyOS 5.1 and supports BeiDou satellite messaging. Huawei does not list an update period on its product pages.
Should you buy the Pura 80 Pro?
The Pura 80 Pro fits photographers who want a 1-inch main sensor for less than the Ultra costs. It also offers a bright display, fast charging and IP69 protection. The trade-offs are the missing 5G and the lack of Google apps on the global model. Buyers who need long zoom should look at the Pura 80 Ultra instead.
