The OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G is a mid-range phone announced on January 11, 2024, with a launch in Malaysia. India followed a day later. Sales there began on January 18 at INR 39,999 for the 12 GB + 256 GB version. This global model differs from the Chinese Reno11 Pro. That phone uses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and a sharper screen. The phone is now discontinued, and OPPO’s current lineup starts with the Reno12 series.
Design and display
The phone has a 6.7-inch curved OLED screen with a 2412 x 1080 resolution. It refreshes at up to 120Hz, shows 10-bit color and supports HDR10+. OPPO quotes a local peak brightness of 950 nits.
The body measures 162.4 x 74.1 mm and weighs about 181 g. Two colors were sold: Pearl White and Rock Grey. Pearl White has a layered glass back with a shimmering pearl pattern and is 7.66 mm thick. Rock Grey uses a frosted glass finish and is 7.59 mm thick. OPPO does not list an official water resistance rating for this global model.
Performance
The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8200, a 4nm chip with a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. Its fastest CPU core reaches 3.1 GHz. Every version has 12 GB of LPDDR5X memory. Storage is 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 3.1, and India received only the 256 GB version. There is no microSD card slot.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The main camera uses a 50 MP Sony IMX890 sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical stabilization. A 32 MP telephoto camera adds 2x optical zoom for portraits. An 8 MP ultra-wide camera covers a 112-degree field of view.
The 32 MP front camera has autofocus. Both the front and rear cameras record 4K video at 30 fps.
Battery and charging
The battery has a typical capacity of 4,600 mAh. It supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging, and OPPO includes the charger in the box. According to OPPO, a full charge takes about 28 minutes. Wireless charging is not supported.
Software and updates
The phone shipped with ColorOS 14 based on Android 14. OPPO India promised three OS upgrades and four years of security updates. Other features include NFC, an infrared blaster and an in-display fingerprint reader. Sound comes from a single speaker at the bottom.
Should you buy the OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G?
The Reno11 Pro 5G suits buyers who want a slim phone with a 2x telephoto camera for portraits. Its 80W charging is fast for this price class. However, it is no longer produced, and OPPO never sold it officially in the US or Europe. Buyers who want a newer model can look at its successor, the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G.
