The POCO F7 Ultra is the first Ultra model in POCO’s F series. POCO announced it on March 27, 2025, at a global launch event in Singapore, together with the F7 Pro. Sales started the same day. Its global launch price is $649 for the 12GB + 256GB version. In Europe, it costs €749.90 on POCO’s official store. It sits at the top of the F7 lineup. In China, the same phone is sold as the REDMI K80 Pro.
Design and display
The F7 Ultra combines an aluminum frame with a glass back in a gloss-matte finish. POCO Shield Glass protects the screen. The phone is IP68 rated, tested in fresh water up to 2.5 meters deep for 30 minutes. It measures 160.26 x 74.95 x 8.39 mm and weighs 212 g. Two colors are available: Black and Yellow.
The 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED panel has a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, or 526 ppi. It refreshes at up to 120Hz and reaches 3,200 nits of peak brightness. The display supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It also uses 3,840Hz PWM dimming.
Performance
Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite, made on a 3nm process. Its two prime cores run at up to 4.32 GHz, and the GPU is the Adreno 830. POCO also adds its first dedicated graphics chip, which handles game upscaling and frame interpolation. Memory options are 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB, with LPDDR5X RAM. POCO lists UFS 4.1 storage, which it enables through an over-the-air update. There is no microSD slot.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor, sized 1/1.55 inches. It has an f/1.6 lens and OIS. A 50MP telephoto camera has a 60mm-equivalent lens, 2.5x optical zoom and OIS. It can focus from as close as 10 cm. The third rear camera is a 32MP ultrawide with a 120° field of view. Rear video goes up to 8K at 24fps. On the front, a 32MP camera records 1080p video at up to 60fps.
Battery and charging
The F7 Ultra has a 5,300mAh battery. It supports 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Both chargers are sold separately, as the box has no power adapter. POCO says the battery keeps at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles.
Software and updates
The phone shipped with Xiaomi HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. POCO promises four Android version upgrades and six years of security updates. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC. It also has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers and an IR blaster. The SIM tray holds two nano-SIM cards.
Should you buy the POCO F7 Ultra?
The F7 Ultra suits buyers who want Snapdragon 8 Elite performance, a telephoto camera and wireless charging. It costs less than a typical flagship. Its 2K screen and IP68 rating round out the package. However, its battery is smaller than the 6,000mAh unit in the F7 Pro. In addition, POCO has released a successor, the F8 Ultra, which is worth comparing.
