The realme GT 7 is an upper midrange phone. realme announced it for global markets on May 27, 2025, in Paris. In Europe, it starts at €749.99 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It focuses on a large battery, fast charging and strong water resistance.
This global model differs from the realme GT7 sold in China. The Chinese phone uses a Dimensity 9400+ chip and a 144Hz display, so it is a separate device.
Design and display
The GT 7 has a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 2780 x 1264 resolution. Its refresh rate goes up to 120Hz. realme quotes a peak brightness of 6,000 nits. The display also supports high-frequency PWM dimming.
The back panel uses a graphene and fiberglass blend that helps spread heat. The phone is 8.3 mm thick and weighs about 206 grams. It carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings. Colors are IceSense Black and IceSense Blue. A limited Dream Edition in Aston Martin Green was made with the Aston Martin F1 team.
Performance
The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e, a 4nm chip with CPU cores up to 3.4GHz. The GPU is an Immortalis-G720. Storage is UFS 4.0. Standard models come with 12GB of RAM, while the Dream Edition has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. A 7,700mm² vapor chamber handles cooling.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor with an f/1.8 lens. Next to it sits a 50MP 2x telephoto camera and an 8MP ultrawide. The main camera records up to 8K at 30fps. It also shoots 4K at 120fps. On the front, a 32MP Sony sensor records 4K video at up to 60fps.
Battery and charging
A 7,000mAh battery powers the phone. Wired charging reaches 120W, and realme says a full charge takes about 40 minutes. The charger comes in the box. However, wireless charging is not supported.
Software and updates
The GT 7 launched with realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15. realme promises four major OS updates and six years of security patches. The phone also supports an eSIM, and it uses an optical in-display fingerprint reader. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC.
Should you buy the realme GT 7?
The GT 7 suits buyers who want a big battery, fast charging and IP69 protection. It also costs less than full flagships. It also offers a longer update promise than many rivals in this price range. On the other hand, it lacks wireless charging. Buyers who want the faster Snapdragon 8 Elite should look at the realme GT 7 Pro instead.
