The REDMI 13C is a budget 4G phone that Xiaomi announced on November 10, 2023. It replaced the REDMI 12C and is the 4G version of the REDMI 13C 5G. In Germany, it launched at €149.90 for the 4 GB + 128 GB model. It is not sold in the US. The POCO C65 is the same phone sold under the POCO brand.
Design and display
The phone has a 6.74-inch LCD with a 1600 x 720 resolution and 260 ppi. The refresh rate goes up to 90Hz, and peak brightness reaches 600 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass covers the screen, and a small notch holds the selfie camera.
The frame and back are plastic. The body measures 168 x 78 x 8.09 mm and weighs 192 g. Global colors are Midnight Black, Navy Blue, Glacier White and Clover Green. In India, the phone came in Stardust Black and Starshine Green instead.
Performance
Inside is the MediaTek Helio G85, a 12nm octa-core chip. It has two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores. Graphics run on a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. Memory options are 4 GB + 128 GB, 6 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB.
Storage is eMMC 5.1, which is slower than UFS. A microSD slot adds extra space. The REDMI 13C 5G uses a Dimensity 6100+ chip with 5G support, while this model stays on 4G LTE.
Cameras
The rear setup pairs a 50MP main camera (f/1.8) with a 2MP macro camera and an auxiliary lens. There is no ultrawide camera and no optical stabilization. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30fps.
The front camera has 8MP and an f/2.0 aperture. It also records 1080p video at 30fps.
Battery and charging
The battery has a typical capacity of 5000mAh. The phone supports 18W charging over USB-C with PD. However, Xiaomi ships a 10W adapter in the box, so faster charging needs a separate charger. Box contents can differ by region.
Software and updates
The REDMI 13C launched with MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Xiaomi’s official list ends its security updates on November 10, 2026. That gives about three years of support from launch.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint reader, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and FM radio. Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3 are supported. NFC is present, but Xiaomi says it varies by market.
Should you buy the REDMI 13C?
The REDMI 13C suits buyers who want a large screen and a long-lasting battery for little money. It also keeps a headphone jack and a microSD slot. On the other hand, it has no 5G, an HD+ screen and slow eMMC storage.
Security updates end in November 2026, which matters for anyone keeping a phone for years. Its successor is the REDMI 14C. Buyers who need 5G can look at the REDMI 13C 5G.
